Was it pretty? No. Was I fearful we could LOSE to Georgia Tech? A little bit. But did Clemson end up winning AND covering the spread? yes!

The defense and special teams (pleasant surprise) were A+ and did their job. The offense struggled big time early on but stopped getting in their way — we scored 27 in the second half! The line and receivers must play better, and the same goes for DJ (who did look better than any point in 2021 that second half). He showed improvement, but maybe not enough to keep a quick, decisive Klubnik off the field.

I don’t think anyone expected us to have an elite offense, just that we needed good-average play to win the ACC. The unit showed that ability in the second half. This game was 14-8 last year!! Plenty of things to improve, but no reason not to be happy with a comfortable win in an opener.
