Game Day for injured/handicapped

Aug 24, 2022, 1:31 PM

I have a buddy with a bum knee and a cane. Although he’s only 30, he’s waiting and knee procedure. Is there anything he can do on gameday that would make it a bit easier on him to get to the stadium? Hell have his sons with him…..they’re like 7&8….he’s never been to a game and has tix for the furman game. Just trying to see if the bored has any info I can pass along. TIA

If you have a golf cart with no markings, usually beige in color, just ride it around and park where you see other golf carts. Unless he has a handicap sticker that's probably your best bet.

I would check with someone involved with parking. I got a pass once years ago for my step dad to be close for a hoops game. Check the ath dept phone roster. I'm sure he isnt the only request like this they get. I'd give you a name if I knew one

regularly navigates home AND away games. He unfortunately lost both legs but gets around games quite well.

every 30 minutes or so depending on traffic. They drop off at the student entry gate. My parents used them regularly. They may work other lots, but I am not sure.

When I had surgery back 2011, I was able to call for a golf cart shuttle to the stadium.

Call IPTAY to get elevator passes if you are in the upper deck. I got my parents elevator passes for every home game for the last 7 years.

We use a travel wheel chair. You can have him wheeled into the the stadium then put it to the side where you will see other wheelchairs and children strollers.

I sent you a message that has a link to handicap parking assistance. Below is the link.

Mrs Noodle had knee issues last season.

They run the big accessible shuttles out of lot 10 to the gate. There’s handicap parking near Fike too.

There are also ADA golf carts that will pick you up and take you to your gate. I found them to be very unreliable but they try. There’s a phone number you can call for these shuttles. Of course I missed half the first quarter twice from waiting on them.

I also recommend getting some handicap accessible seats off of stubhub or similar. It was much easier for the wife.

There used to be a handicap lot behind Sikes that had golf cart shuttle to the stadium but things have changed so much, I'm not sure. He can call 864-656-2115 and ask about parking with shuttle service.
