Funny story to pass the boredom of the offseason.

So last week, I decided to pack up my bags and head to **** to see if I can take a shot at an ISIS fighter or two. Well, I fly to ******* from *****. When I land, I'm greeted by a team of South Africans. Which by the way, are crazier than some of the Marines I served with. They help me with my luggage, and proceed to inform me that we must take another flight on a two engine propeller plane. So we take a shuttle to the bird. Well, what appears to be an aircraft literally held together by duct tape. I board the aircraft and quickly realize that there is no AC on the 100 degree Aircraft. I then sat in my seat which went all the way back as it was broken among other things. Well, we finally take off and get to a comfortable cruising altitude of like 700ft as the aircraft struggled to get us to our final destination. About that time, a Kenyan lady who was acting as the "flight attendant" started walking towards the passenger compartment of the aircraft. She was holding a tray with what appeared to be snacks of some sort. I'm sitting in my seat thinking nuts, pretzels, or crackers. Could it be candy? Nope, as it turns out our in flight snack was a cough drop. I mean, who does that? Welcome to **** I suppose. At least they have the means to provide internet as bad as it is at times.
PS... All my Praying Tigers keep me and my team mates lifted up. Things are ugly here and we don't have the US Military to come save our behinds. I will say this though, I'm surrounded by great people who have great courage.
GO TIGERS!!!

In tribute to your brave heroic gesture, I will forego the cart and walk (the front nine) in support of you.

Get some Chesty. Oh how I am missing those days since I retired earlier in the year. Would gladly hop on that same duct tape bird and join ya, but the C.O. here (wife) had enough deployments to worry and would skin me if I brought it up Keep your powder dry. Semper Fi brother!
