Like everyone else, I hated it. What added insult to injury was even after Judge’s AB was over, they took and additional 10 or so seconds to advertise Sunday Night Baseball.

And to also take the time to promise us they'd be back to show the next Judge at bat so we wouldn't miss it as if anyone was sitting there worried that they wouldn't.

Posts were indeed funny and more entertaining than the “Judge cut ins”.

And keep in mind that this isn't even for the Major League record. It only would tie him for the Yankee's and AL record. Regardless of what you think about the legitimacy, officially he is not even close to Bonds' Major League record.

That's what I kept thinking. I could ALMOST get cutting to his at bats if he were close to the MLB record.

Did ABC/ESPN cut in so that we could watch Pujols hit 700? That is a bigger deal in my mind than 61 in a season as it shows longevity and skill plus only 4 have hit 700 or more right? Didn't McGwire and Sosa go over 61 on the 'roids? I know Bonds did. And of course Maris was the original 61 HR guy. So Judge will be the 5th. Either way, you don't cut into a college game in the South that's coming down to the wire to show a Yankee game. Put it on a scroll at the bottom of the screen saying if you want to see this then go to such and such channel.

It is incredibly odd that they did that.

I could understand if they did it during a baseball game, but football?!?

I would bet that less than 5% of the people watching college football wanted to see that. Probably less than 1% actually.

Trying to remember...

I know we missed the audio call of one Wake TD with a split screen.
Was our two-point conversion on split screen with no audio?
There was at least one more crucial play that we were forced to split screen.

And I'm a Yankees fan but at the moment I didn't care. If he gets 61 that only TIES Maris. 62 would be a bigger deal. Even at that, just give us the replay right after it happens like you do for the games we have chosen not to watch. NFL Red Zone does its best to show you scoring plays live, but when a long strike happens, or a game changing play, you see it a few seconds afterwards.

ESPN missed the mark, which seems to happen a lot, on what fans desire to see.
