a TD to go up by 1 point and inexplicably kicked an extra point to go up 2 instead of going for a 2-pt conversion to try and go up 3. James Davis had a coming out party that game, it was fun to watch.

hard to imagine we were unranked and looking up at programs like Texas A@M in those days. Also hard to believe Jad Dean's falling apart because he was big time good in 2005 and really carried us that day making all those kicks.

So glad those Bowden era uniforms are gone. Smallish paw on the helmet, paws not on the shoulders, etc.

Ran into the A&M Play by Play announcer the next morning

at the hotel in Greenville. He said the atmosphere at Death Valley was the best he had ever seen, and he had seen quite a few. Very complimentary of the game day atmosphere and the friendliness of the fans. He and his wife were driving back home and taking the scenic route, so I suggested he go through Cashiers and Highlands and grab lunch downtown Highlands.

Really nice guy. Probably retired by now.
