meet. The media is so intent on FSU rising back to the top in the ACC, and indeed they might. But, all the opinions floated out there by the "authorities" about FSU winning the ACC is basically because they are tired of talking about Clemson.
Looking forward to beating them, and putting a good season together, so that we can make the pundits look stoopid, yet again.

I think DJU is going to be awesome this year. He wasn’t any worse than Cade, #### we won most every game until the playoffs with DJ. Now we might lose to Duke. DJU came in on the heels of what many agree is the greatest QB of our generation.

Never seen a quarterback struggle that badly to make simple, routine throws. He really didnt do anything different at oregon state. If he is "awesome" this year, it would be a complete 180* transformation.

and good for our strength of schedule.
There is good reason for the media to think that FSU will be good again this year and Miami will be improved.
As for the media "really wanting them to be good," they wanted that for us the last several years as well. We've been the favorite to win the ACC and many picked us to be playoff contenders, but we've largely disappointed them during that span. You can't blame them for doubting us at this point.

They won 5 games by 10 or less. 2 point win over BC. Need a multitude of miracles to beat Clemson in OT and got absolutely manhandled in their bowl game. Now they lose most of the offensive production from last year and replace the sparkplug of it all with freaking DJU for crying out loud. They may be good and they may win the ACC, but basing that on last year is patently absurd.

To be fair, during our 2016 NC season, we won 7 games by 7 pts. or less, plus the loss to Pitt by 1. Sometimes a great season can still have several near misses.

The way I look at it is there are 6 true contenders to make the ACC title game. Upsets can and do happen, but they are as likely to happen to Clemson as they are FSU. Miami, NC State, Louisville, and VT are more likely to be upset by lower teams.
FSU
Clemson
Miami
NC State
Louisville
VT
FSU only plays Miami and Clemson so they can split those 1-1 and still likely make the ACC tile game. (I don't see FSU, Clemson, and Miami all going 7-1 in ACC).
Miami plays VT, and then @Louisville and FSU in back to back weeks
Clemson plays NC State, @FSU, Louisville, and @VT. Clemson likely needs to go 3-1 in those games, beating NC State (Their ACC schedule is easy, hard to see two losses if they beat Clemson) to make the ACC Championship.
I think we are a better team than FSU, but I think the schedule sets up nicely for them in the ACC.

I don’t see us losing to any of those teams, Miami always chokes even with the best talent, the big city is too much for those youngsters to handle along with football for a long season.

They always ranked up higher than was merited when we scheduled an early season SEC team. They always picked against us during those days to.
For three years they called Bama's team the greatest NCAA team to ever take the field we beat their butts twice. Remember Stephen A, 'Ranked #5 Alabama, #4 Alabama #3...#1 ALABAMA!" We embarrassed the ESPiN network.

They were undefeated in the ACC last year, undefeated in the regular season, and won the ACC Championship. They did have some significant player losses, but many other ACC teams did too - including us.
FSU also utilizes the transfer portal really well, and made some very good additions that way to bolster their roster for 2024.
This isn't some anti-Clemson bias. This is reporters looking at recent history, which shows FSU trending up and us trending down. Facts don't lie. It's our job to reverse those trends and take back the ACC.

I think sports media has reached the point of everything always being about money. Sports media hard sells the larger market, hoping to get those eyeballs. Larger school equals more eyeballs equals more money. Reality nor truth have no place in the more money equation.
