That is what some folks are reporting. I can't officially confirm it.
I speculate he will make a non-statement statement about the unequal revenue sharing agreement just passed by ACC.
I suspect it will be worded in such a way that Alford will politely and professionally say positive things about it. Something like, "We are glad to see that the conference shares our concerns about the need to increase our revenue in order to compete on a national level. We look forward to continuing this effort and trust that the conference will recognize this a good first step."
Translation - We're outta here as soon as possible, and the ACC knows it. It's just a matter of figuring out how fast we can leave. This deal does nothing to slow us down.
I also suspect that he and Neff have had a discussion and Neff is aware of and in agreement with whatever Alford says.

in your opinion do you think Clemson/FSU are a packaged deal? Could you see them splitting up, one to the big ten and one to the SEC? Just curious

Interesting. Do you think FSU will just write the check? I have to believe there is more $ down there. A more wealthy fan base. It is Florida. Kinda like Texas did, we don't care about the $, we are leaving.

Well, that's not what Texas did.

If it was as simple as writing a check, albeit $100MM, that is doable. The problem is writing a check and then having to pay future revenue back for a number of years.

Depends on how big the check is.

FSU doesn't have nearly as much money (boosters) as Florida. No way can FSU write a check for $500 million.
I do think FSU, Clemson and others are trying to negotiate a lower buyout. What the bottom line number is, I have no idea.

I think they will both end up in the same conference.

But, I could envision a scenario where B1G, SEC, ESPN, Fox, NBC, CBS all worked out a solution that has one going to SEC and one to B1G.
If that were to happen I can't imagine them saying, "Sorry, we're a package. Take us both or we aren't going. We're not going to be split up."
However, I think it is much more likely that FSU and Clemson are the top two ACC choices for both conferences. When the ACC dissolves I think FSU and Clemson will have offers from both conferences and will get to pick where they want to go.

Unless he has to lay down a trail. I just think less is more in this situation. Understand why he sounded so positive the other day...just wish he were a bit more muted.

... without the approval, or maybe even direction, of legal council. It's all part of the "pre-trial negotiations."

Agree I think it’ll be a buncha nothingburger but I will say it won’t surprise me if it’s stronger. FSU hasn’t been afraid to ruffle some feathers- unlike Clemson.

I hope Neff isn't in over his head and has good counsel in this process. There are many good arguments out there. If ESPN is hemorrhaging money, then do we wait to see how that shakes out. I hope for the best and I hope something happens sooner than later.

How would it help Clemson if ESPN is hemorrhaging money?
