Clemson vs LSU postgame notes

Tajh Boyd set the ACC record for touchdown passes in the first half with his 35th of the year. He threw another in the second half to finish with 36 for the season. He broke the record of 34 that had been held by Phillip Rivers of NC State in 2003. Full Story »

Wasn't the 2005 Texas A&M game a walk off field goal?

I thought that Jad Dean kicked a winner into the eaat uprights as time expired in the opening game in 2005 at Death Valley.

Technically, no

There were still 2 seconds left on the clock when Jad Dean kicked the winning FG, so we had to kick it off to TAMU to run the clock out. (I'd love to claim credit for remembering that, but I didn't...had to check the record: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId=252460228&period=4 )

Incidentally the score of that game was also 25-24...

did you forget to mention the defense: when are you clemson people going to understand that without the d, you don't have anything but a bunch of stats? shame. the results of last evening would not have been possible without the d. the players are trying to not be 2nd class citizens.

The very first stat is a defensive one

The D came out of nowhere to be the key to the game---against LSU!! I think the Venables effect is starting to manifest itself. Harda$$.
