Channel 0ne did exist in the beginning of TV, but it’s frequency wasn’t compatible to broadcast a quality TV picture, so the FCC dumped it in 1948. Because the FCC is a government agency, they were too lazy to re-number the channels.

To convey a clear picture of what a stellar organization the FCC is……I’ve owned an FCC radio-operators license since 1997. In 2020 I decided to replace my raggedy piece of paper with a new license that could actually be read. I contacted the FCC and they informed me that I had never owned a license. So….as far as the FCC is concerned…..the right hand doesn’t know, what the right hand is doing……and they’re lazy.

answer is, it was a trick question. Coco Chanel went straight to No. 5 when she introduced her perfume in 1921. The number five held significant meaning for her, from her time being raised in a Convent Orphanage by Nuns. The paths she took to the cathedral every day were laid out in a pattern signifying the number five. Chanel took the number to have not only spiritual meaning, but meant good luck to her as well. She introduced her clothing lines, as well as what would become her signature perfume, on the fifth day of the fifth month, May 5th.

So now, as Paul Harvey used to say, you know the REST of the story.

:)
