What's fer supper?

Wife refuses to cook anything tonight.
NP, I'll cook. She then proceeds to shoot down everything I suggest. Fine. She orders wings.
15 wings are $21. Now that's not counting whatever she wanted to get, plus the three boys who will no doubt end up with chicken fingers, a quesadilla, a burger or hot dog.
What I wanted to cook was a $3 bag of microwave Asparagus, and a $6 and change pack of 5 chicken leg quarters on the grill (BBQ), and a homemade greek salad. My meal would cost MAYBE $20, tops adding in BBQ sauce and whatever the olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, green peppers, basil, and a few TBSP of olive oil cost.. Feeds all of us.
Her meal, $100.
Worst part, I'd like mine better. And middle son, and oldest son. 4yo and wife are slowly drifting onto a food island in the house. I am winning minds and stomachs here, slowly but Shirley.
But 15 chicken wings cost as much as 15 leg quarters in my freezer right now, already bought, I shichuknot. And I don't remember this whole supper negotiation thing as a kid. My parents cooked, at home, and I ate what they cooked, or didn't. But it's like a freaking democracy around here. Well I want this, I want that, I want this, I want that, and then everyone gets what they want. IDK.....different world. My parents spent about 1 minute deciding what to eat, and maybe another minute deciding on who cooks what, and that was it. My job was to show up at the table, set the table, sit down, say the blessing and eat.

Rabbit is awesome cooked anyway.
My father wouldn't eat beef liver. Said they served it every day when he was in the Navy 1946-48.
