Frank Howard Days

Jun 8, 2022, 4:06 PM

I truly enjoyed those years. Winning a game was hard.

Is NIL now the deal?

Absolutely it is. This will take college football back to the days of the Blue Bloods.
Blue Bloods won because they had more money.

When rules changed, others had a long shot chance.
Now schools like Clemson will again take a back seat.
If a smaller school happens to find and develop a kid, he will be bought by the rich. The transfer portal will be bigger than what high schools can offer.

Most colleges (like Clemson) will become sorta like a minor league where players are developed for the Big Boys.

Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud now has a Bentley Bentayga.
A new 2022 Bentley Bentayga starts at $160,000, but can easily clear $200,000 with additional features.

Clemson Tigers in 2022 are not that and we will be again in the CFP. I think if we develop just a tiny bit on the "O", no team is better --> this year.

In the Frank Howard days, players lived on campus.
Just down the hall from me in the Tin Cans was Hugh Mauldin.

Did players get ?? Yep, but there was not that much ?? available. Getting a free ride at Clemson was huge. It was not free as they had to work hard. They ate in the mess hall with us, and the food was very, very good.

My recollection is some football players could sign a car out of the Clemson car pool.
Some may have gotten a $10 handshake after a game.

Yes, we ate in the mess hall, but in a different room - the training room. The difference was that we could have as many steaks as we wanted at any meal during the day.

$10 handshake? If you wanted $20, all you had to do was to check out a stick stabber (to collect trash) and walk around the stadium for an afternoon.

Unless he wants a large yard ornament, I hope they gave him a bank full of money for gas.

The article I read said his was used and worth 150k. For 150k I would've selected something different, that thing is butt ugly.

Maybe get a Honda and save the rest for gas?

Today fictional things on the web seem to have value.
Things like art, bitcoin, even sports trading cards have great value.

I believe that David John Uiagalelei is going to have a GREAT year.
Like DJ, I am "All In".
Being poor, all I can offer to him (NIL) is a photo this car:

It is more fun than a Bentley.
DJ, all the real fans on Tnet have your back.

And, I don't care how great they might be, that thing is ugly as the Emperor's New Clothes!

I hate it that just about all the auto manufacturers evidently got together and decided that CHROME doesn't look good on vehicles anymore.

:(

Who pays auto insurance for these NIL vehicles?

Or is that "gifted" too?

Did he get the turn signal option? Lots of cars I see don't have it. Their drivers rely on everyone's ESP to ensure they don't get rear ended. It don't always work with semis or big dump trucks.
