That my High School coach died. Coach Richard B "####" Weldon 1929-2022 and married for 70 years to Mrs. Weldon.

After leaving the Marines he spent one year at Clemson and transferred to PC. He was a standout player there. After graduating he accepted the coaching job at Bamberg High School in 1952 and remained there until he took a coaching job at USC in 1964 after winning a state football championship. I played baseball and football for him. He was a great coach, tough as nails and loved wind sprints.

After USC he coached at Sumter and Lexington. After sports he had a successful career in real-estate.

He will be laid to rest tomorrow in Chapin at the Methodist church cemetery. I would appreciate it greatly if you would give him a moment of silence tomorrow and remember the family in your prayers.

RIP
