Fort Worth

Dec 12, 2018, 9:48 AM

Anyone opting to stay in Fort Worth instead of Dallas. Rooms seem to be cheaper and just for what I can gather, traffic is supposedly more manageable. The only must see I can think of in Dallas is Dealey Plaza.

Just wondering if anyone who lives in area or visited can give pro's and con's of staying in Fort Worth as opposed to Dallas.

Fort Worth

Fort Worth is cool and much easier to get to the stadium than Dallas. The grassy knoll is not much to worry about seeing, but most want to for sure. There is $4 parking right next to it, but I wouldn't do the museum. If you drive to Dallas, I would do the Bush museum at SMU

Ft Worth is more laid back than Dallas. Sundance Square and The Stockyards are the go to places. Joe T Garcia's at the Stockyards is great Tex-Mex. Cattleman's is a great steakhouse as well in that same area. Rodeo Goat has an awesome atmosphere and some of the best burgers you will ever have.

Texas Live is right next to the stadium and will be the go to place for Pregame. You can get your Texas BBQ fix here. They have 8 restaurants and several bars under one roof with plenty of TV's. You are a very short walk to Jerry World. I live out here, so let me know if you have any more questions. Grapevine is also a very good place to get rooms, lots to do and a short drive to the game.

I live in a suburb of Fort Worth and personally like it better than Dallas. If you have any specific questions, I’ll be happy to answer them if I can. If you want to be a little closer to the game than in downtown Fort Worth, Grapevine or Southlake are both great options.

Check-out the old Cotton Bowl stadium too.

It's a pretty cool place.

We stopped by before the Texas A&M game earlier this year. Everyone in the area was getting ready for the State Fair, so there was a lot of activity around the place. The stadium itself was locked-up pretty tight but a security guard let us in for a few quick pics. We gave him $50 and he took us to the locker rooms and up in the press boxes.

While you're in downtown Dallas checking out the Sixth Floor Museum and Dealey Plaza (definitely worth the time), be sure to take a food break at the Pecan Lodge which is a very short drive from Dealey Plaza. The brisket is phenomenal !!!

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Not at the Cotton Bowl.

The game is at Cowboys stadium. Not at the Cotton Bowl at the State Fairgrounds. Pecan Losge is great though.

Yes...I know that...

I'm simply saying, while you're in Dallas, go check-out the old Cotton Bowl Stadium at the State Fair Grounds. It's a pretty cool place.
