Forever we have had to defend our practice of going onto

Oct 14, 2016, 12:00 PM

the field after games. We always say that we are not "rushing the field" but rather just "gathering at the paw", or something similar.

It's time to prove it. If not, we WILL lose this tradition. The writing is on the wall. What happens next is (mostly) up to the students.

Is there any way that they don't screw this up?

Was @ wvu & big 12 rules don't allow fans period. We were official guests with th field passes and they still wouldn't let us on after the game.

We act too stupid it's an awesome tradition that we'll lose. (They also sell beer. Not good.)

Well said, noodle. Traditions in the South are fading quickly. This one should be near and dear to all Tigers. It must be protected at all costs....the thought of kids not being able to have their own "Mean Joe Green" moment at the paw makes me sad.

CFB is all about tradition to me. Ohio St dotting the "I", Colorado's Buffalo, running down the hill, USC Song girls, and yes, meeting at the Paw. Because that is all stuff that is unique to that school. If people are acting stupid, toss their butts in the can. They will learn, but allow good traditions to continue. The goalposts thing was common sense as A) it was destructive, and B) high chance of injuries. Meeting at the Paw, just be a decent human being and it will be alright to me.

Nailed it, jarhead! When I think of college cheerleaders I think of those USC vixens in the white....they're clearly going for the aesthetic instead of the acrobatic gymnasts. I appreciate their tradition!

whom have been drinking, it's probably a bit much to expect them to behave responsibly. College students do really dumb things. Most of us know that from first-hand experience.

It scares players and coaches from the other team . Let them leave the field before rushing ,

The tradition will be lost if changes aren't made , Walk on the field , Quit running .

. . . to attend games at Death Valley.

But we need to impress upon all students & fans who with to enter the field after the game the importance of doing it in an orderly way, or we will soon lose this cherished tradition entirely.

This tradition is going to end in one of two ways...

1. The ACC bans players on the field at all institutions (which will happen before Clemson ever bans it themselves)

2. We start selling beer in the stands. The moment that begins is the same moment the tradition will be eliminated.

FANS on the field, not players. My bad.
