For you coot lurkers on discipline...

Aug 4, 2012, 4:24 AM

Let's compare Dabo's discipline of players vs Spurrier's discipline of players.

Under Spurrier, SCU has 45 player related arrests. Only players that were ever suspended any games were 3rd and 4th string players. All starters and 2nd stringers, either got suspended from the team when zero team activities were going on and then reinstated within a week or suspended from meaningless workouts. Stephen Garcia, the most notorious coot jail bird, was only suspended from a few off season work outs. Steve Spurrier did not suspend Stephen Garcia a single game. And when Garcia was kicked off the team, he wasn't kicked off the team by Steve Spurrier, he wasn't kicked off the team by the athletic department, he was kicked off the team by the University administration.

Under Dabo, 3 Clemson players have been arrested. Jamie Cumbie was arrested for fighting and got kicked off the team. Joe Craig was arrested for fighting with his girlfriend and kicked off the team. Sammy Watkins got arrested for having pot and was suspended two games, including an important game against Auburn.

So let's recap this coots, none of your significant (starters and 2nd stringers) players have ever been suspended for a game under Spurrier, much less an important game. When it comes to discipline, you shamecock fans have no place to talk about any other schools disciplinary issues. Your team has had a very, very long history of players getting arrested and suffering no punishment. Your school has a very, very long history of football players not going to class and academic fraud to keep players eligible. Your football team's graduation rate is 39%, worst by far out of ACC/SEC teams. Many of your former players go on to be jailbirds, drug users, and drug dealers. Let's start with Boo Williams, Demetrius Summers, Derek Watson, and Troy Hambrick just to name a few of your former players that have gone into the drug dealing business.

Reality Check

Aug 6, 2012, 1:14 PM

Garcia was forced to redshirt after enrolling early. Let's see Dabo do the same.

Closest comparison would be Ladi Ajiboye (former Freshman All American who had made 21 starts at DT at the time of his arrest). Pot without prescription drugs and no car involved got him 3 games including UGA and NC State. Check your facts.

Also, didn't Cumbie almost kill an influential boosters grandson that was half his size?

Sorry, paint on a fender doesn't compare to beating a female or someone half your size, neither does having pot and a few pills in a car for that matter.

Cumbie was also kicked off the team idiot...***

I wasn't the one who brought up Jamie Cumbee, just pointed out his offense didn't belong in the same discussion with Garcia's or Watkins' offenses.

the original oster brought up all 45 arrests not just garcia

I believe if you look back through the 45 you will find some very similar stuff in your history to the Cumbie and Craig issues. I know because I read them.

Someone post the list for this fool!!!

Make it idjit proof and someone will make a better idjit.

Redshirting does not equal suspension

Forced to redshirt because he did not learn the playbook and he may have redshirted without the suspension from practice. He still was not suspended any games.

Forced to redshirt?! How is that a punishment? Get the hell

Im a die hard tiger fan but this is getting really old. Why are we so obsessed with the discipline of a third string qb who drank a beer and got a speeding ticket. Ok so we are better than them at discipline, now lets beat them in a football game. Tired of seeing nothing but talk about coots, spurrier and some third string qb nobody knows of. Some of you may be the ones obsessed with your rival. Screw them.

Coots win this battle hands down,

Aug 6, 2012, 4:31 PM

if you think it's about winning games.

I'd rather have an arsehole coach and win then a good guy coach and lose.

Maybe that's why they own us over the last three years.

The criticisms are really hilarious, too.

Aug 6, 2012, 5:00 PM

"Spurrier only cares about winning!"

Yeah...because he's a *football coach*.

We should look into getting one of those.
