Why was G Byrd taken out after the strike and the at-bat taken over by Jackson?

Byrd for the first pitch - a failed bunt strike, left on lefty. Brought in Jackson to PH for the rest of the at bat. Not really sure the thought process there, but it seems like the rhythm couldn't have been good.

Very odd sequence. We are grasping for offensive answers and just don't have any. Paul Byrd looks pissed as well. We just cannot hit top level pitching. But I will say enough of the Lee bashing. Geez people, the 1st thing he had to do was start winning the games that we were supposed to. He's done pretty good with that. Let's face it, this roster is not elite. We have to give it time.

Thanks.

It was an ugly bunt attempt.

You don't see batters taken out in the middle of an at-bat very often.
