When I entered Clemson in 1972 I had a new denim jacket. That was before pre-washed stuff so it was dark blue stiff fabric. I wore it to class, downtown, ballgames, and just about everywhere else even after I graduated in 1976. It has a hole in the right sleeve from my elbow leaning on classroom desks and a few local bar tops. It also has a little paint on the left sleeve from when I painted my first house. Brought it out and wore it for my 50th birthday party even though it fit about like OJ's gloves. It does not mean anything to anyone else but I consider it irreplaceable. I would be pretty angry if someone intentionally destroyed it, even though most folks would say, "Hey man, it's just a jacket."
