i am set to turn the big 30 come Tuesday.its really no big deal to me.but just thinking about it gets me down a little time goes by way fast once you turn 16 for some reason.

44. They used to joke that they looked more like his Grandparents...and often felt that way. I will say this: they were actually the youngest looking 60 year-olds I ever knew.

My wife and I are the same age and we frequently get mistaken as grandparents.......I think it is funny and my wife no so....but I will give her credit she is taking it in stride.....
You should see us at Cub scouts....Now that is a sight to see! My son just started last month and we are definitely the more "mature" family...LOL...Fortunately there are a few other older couples in the den..
I think Baby Boomer parents offers a little something that is missing in the younger generations....Like still being married and happy (26 years!)....Having grown up in a textile working family when the Mills shut down puts a real perspective on hard times and having to struggle to get an education rather than feeling "entitled".....
Anyway, The mind is still "30", I just wished the body was....
Being a Clemson fan and a 48 Y/O father of a 6 year old is the fountain of youth!

I just turned 54 this week and I swear, life just keeps getting better. I may not run fast and jump high like I used to, but I enjoy every day and understand the blessing that life is. Don't worry about getting old, worry about the alternative. My 78 year old Mother tells me that every year on her birthday. She will tell me again on the 14th when she turns 79. We should all be so lucky. When you compare getting old to dying young, it don't seem so bad.

young whippersnapper. First, 30 is nothing. It's like being 20. However, 35 is a key age and marks what I call one of the "milemarkers" along the road. I played soccer for 15 years (semi-pro too). At age 35 I was still going hard at it and could easily track down a 23yr old kid and tackle the ball away. The difference was that I started getting injured so 35 was the first signal for that there were certain things I could'nt or should'nt try to do any more. 40 was the next milemarker but I can't tell you since you may jump off a bridge to spare yourself.

the only two birthdays that really matter are the first and the last.as long as you are healthy,age shouldn't be that important.you can be old at 20 and young at 70.all depends on your attitude.

LMAO! I'm nursing two cracked ribs right now from foot racing a 14 year old. The race part was good, but the slowing down turned out bad for me. That was one H&ll of a crash. At 60, my foot racing days are over for any reason. I know for sure now that anybody bothers me, they will get shot. I'm to ### old to run now. But 30 is a great age, and don't change nothing.

I OUT RAN THE 14 YEAR OLD. My wife and him will tell you that. But he does say he slip down on the start. But I didn't see that part, so it didn't happen.

keep doing the things you've always done. I hit 50 in August and had a 50 eve party until 3:30 a.m. Got up the next day and had the regular birthday bash that lasted until 5:30 a.m. Never accept getting older...just appreciate it and enjoy the ride!

Wait till you turn 60. That was the worst of all birthdays so far. But after a few weeks and I didn't drop dead, everything was ok again. Time goes on, and it's the oldest survivor on earth. Just don't try and compete with it.

I'm bigger and stronger than my 20 year old self at 31. However I'm slower and significantly balder than I was at 20. I would totally kick my 20 year old selfs @ss if he didn't try and run away like the long haired hippie he was.

I turn 68 and feel great! It is going to be my best year yet and the Tigers are going win out and go to a BCS bowl. Even if they don't I have a great creative life and the best things in life are not things! Love God with all your heart and live the Golden Rule!

My 30s were the funnest and most productive years of my life. Turning 40 somehow hit me like a brick wall. I came to the realization that I was at that point officially supposed to be an adult - I still see myself as someone in their 20s, and when I see others my age, I don't see myself as the same age, however, when it comes to men, regardless of how old we are, we all still are juveniles at heart.
I can't believe I have 3 in college, and I can't believe I'm 45. Where did the last 15 years go!!!???
Anyway, savor your 30s, they are a blast, but you will see time go by at lightning speed. The worse part of the 30s was when the kids were in high school, and they no longer considered me "cool". They were cool, but I was just "Dad". I WILL ALWAYS BE COOLER THAN THEM!!!!

First off, wake up each day and remember, whatever the driver's license says, you're as old as you feel. Some days down the road that gets older, but not yet.
As Todd Rundgren (and you're too young to know who he is) says, Don't take yourself too seriously: there are precious few tings worth hating nowadays. And none of them are me.
If you're married, stay faithful. If you can't stay faithful, stay true.
Play ball every chance your schedule allows. You'll know when its time to stop ... but if you stop, you'll learn it's #$#@$ hard to start again.
Do not let ANYONE tell you you're cheering too loud, whether it's for Clemson, you're kid's (if kids there are) soccer game or the lead aria in your community opera. There is no such thing as too much enthusiasm, and those who would deride your are those who have already given up the fight.
Pick a song, any song, that you love and play it daily. A day without music is a day you might as well not have lived. I'll start you with one that I like to play when I feel a little old...everybody knows it sucks to grow up.

anything you want to do (does not apply to women under 20. ) My point is stay as active as you can for as long as you can. If you think you should stop playing golf, softball, soccer, basketball, running etc. in the attempt to save the wear and tear on your body forget it. You are going to hurt anyway you might as well hurt while having fun or remembering how great you were.

As long as each year you are turning that new age is filled with good health and happiness, consider yourself lucky. And I'm not speaking directly to you, Tgrfan.
