For all asking about all the injuries..

Apr 8, 2022, 12:41 PM

It's quite simple. Just like everything else football has gone soft. You can't over work players or make them do things that are designed to toughen them up mentally and physically. Less practice and conditioning time put forth by the NCAA is the main culprit. Look at all the NFL players that sit out the preseason or skip workouts that end up injured in the first game. You have to condition your body to make it strong and get it into what used to be called "playing shape". Now no one wants to work hard but wants to play on game day. Flame away but you all know it's true. Football is soft just like the majority of you on these boards. Have a great weekend and GO TIGERS!

Wouldn't that mean the injury bug was a nationwide problem?

I've not seen any teams even come close to the amount of injuries we are seeing.

Maybe other teams are working their players harder. You heard what Derion Kendrick said.

I wonder if something changed with our S&C and/or football practice routines.

I understand that injuries happen, especially in a violent game like football. But we have had a crazy amount of injuries lately and it’s worth exploring why.

It could very well be random chance, but hopefully everything is being analyzed.

Your point is valid. I still personally feel like players are just not in the same playing shape they used to be when spring practice or the season started. Too much resting and not enough working on the body.

Yes, something did change

We got busted for Osterine in the 2019 post season (2018 regular season), and had to clean up our steroid usage. I say this sort of in jest but osterine is a very popular bulking or cutting roid that helps strengthen joints, tissue around joints to avoid injuries and recovery.

For the record I think steroids should be legalized in all sports and in general if under a physicians care, they are incredibly helpful and actually good for most men once they hit 35+ (non athletes) if administered properly.

Had a wonderful teacher years ago with many professional experiences who said: "In order to gain endurance, one must endure." Some of the best advice every.
