Football Buddies and perspective

Sep 26, 2019, 12:25 PM

My football buddy (a bama grad, but a great guy) and I have been hanging out on many fall Saturdays together for over 20 years out here in the desert. It has definitely been more fun lately as our program improved and the rivalry has grown ! We trade good natured barbs, drink beer, fire up grills and smokers, hang out with our kids and friends (kids are all grown now, youngest being my tigress, class of 2021). He has been fighting Parkinsons for a long time. Never complains, always a smile and a joke, just a fun guy to be around. He had to cancel this past Saturday because he his having mobility issues. We will be attending a seminar tomorrow about an experimental procedure that he is considering. Just wanted to post this to let you know to appreciate the good times and friendships that we build around our special university and college football. Think some positive thoughts for my buddy for me.

Thoughts and prayers. Take care of your football buddy, you can't find many real buddies of any kind in life. Good luck on the future treatment and tell your friend that even Tigers are pulling for him.

I have a good friend also suffering from Parkinsons and have been wantingvto get him back for a game but he has been reluctant. Have you looked into handicap access and if there are transportation options to get someone to the stadium. I know the busses run from Handcap parking near Hendrix but don't know about taking a wheelchair etc. He doesnt even have a HC tag. I need to call so might be worthwhile to call, I guess Athletic or Ticket Office.

I believe some of those busses are equipped for ordinary wheels chairs and some can handle the motorized wheel chairs.

Prayers and positive thoughts for your buddy. He's blessed to have a truly dedicated friend like you. Sure hope the experimental treatment works for him.

a blind study drug saved my life!!! Tell your friend that they wouldn't offer these treatments or studies if they didn't feel that the risk was worth the reward!!!
