An amazing man, proven over and over again that he cares more for others than himself. Maybe he should have avoided the situation he put himself in by signing the extension, but he has given Texans everything and more they need from marquee player. This whole draft deal and commitments to teams that are crummy is like forced labor. None of us would chose to work for folks who lie to us, who don’t keep us safe. Seems that is where he finds himself. I can’t stand how they have treated him, and I thought Bill O Brien was a lost ship in a huge ocean.

Also not a criminal. He isnt right or wrong ...and neither are the texans.
He signed a contract and is following the rules of that contract. It is that simple...no need to bring morality or ethics into it...from either side.

Still, I hope he can get out of there or his talent as a pro will have been wasted. His generally amicable nature is probably partially responsible for his decision to resign w/ that toxic franchise-

DW4 can stay out of work longer than the Texans can live without a self-respecting NFL quarterback -- Tyrod Taylor is quality they will be able to sign as long as DW4 can come back any day -- and $130 million cumulative cap hit for a player doing nothing.

I think Brakepad and Balljoint are better players than Tyrod.

They need a backup even if DW plays. Tyrod fits.

I agree. Tyrod is actually a really good first to back up Watson if need be as their game at least us similar. Tyrod is one of those guys that has quietly had a really good career on some rather bad teams. I would put him, Fitzmagic and McCown as some of the best Baseball cap wearers in the game, of course excluding Earl Morral who was basically a starter half his time imo.

Truth be told could you imagine his career if he had ever been on an actual good team? I'm not saying he is Dan Marino, but I think he is at least a top 20, some years maybe top 15 QB most of his seasons.

It's been obvious for weeks they are going to trade him

This is just the latest sign. Yet the Texans maintain this ridiculous public facade "he's our quarterback".
Even a longtime local sportswriter here (who is also a longtime major kiss up) has turned on them and demanded they trade him "now" because their options grow smaller each passing day.

If I was them I would trade him to the Jets. If I'm Watson I would rather go to Miami. No state tax, warm weather and a teams with a defense and talent.
