Fishing w/ 3 yr old

May 28, 2021, 1:35 PM

My wife and I just welcomed our second child and I would like to take my 3 year old daughter somewhere to fish in the upstate to get us both out of the house. Obviously a lot of water to choose from and wanted to get some ideas on where might be a good spot. Not looking for any secret passed down fishing holes, just want to get her out in the outdoors.

TIA in advance!

I had to remove that part because I realized it wasn't

relevant :(

I guess it kind of depends on what you are fishing for

May 28, 2021, 1:48 PM

If you want to catch a big one, I would just fish with him live suspended underneath a bobber.

If you want to catch a bunch of little ones, cut him into many small pieces and ditch the bobber.

Her. Not him. My bad.***

Pronouns are the hardest part - ESPECIALLY these days.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

I’d go to W Queen street down near the DNR office in Clemson, plenty of parking along the road and you can walk the shoreline easily. Usually doesn’t get packed like the parks and campgrounds, and you’re in the experimental forest so plenty of outside things to do, hike, etc.

Don’t know which part of upstate

May 28, 2021, 2:00 PM

But I second the Experimental Forest recommendation or if you’re more in the Greer/Spartanburg area, Lake Cooley Park is nice and usually just has picnickers on holiday weekends. The lake at Camp Croft is very nice, you can rent a John boat or canoe and get away from the crowd. She would probably think the resident eagle is pretty cool too.

I also second the ted pig request
