First real sign of adversity

And some here on T-Net want to fire the staff that played a major role in two national championships. We are all spoiled and demand to at least make the playoffs each year and I say that is a good thing because you will only get what you expect. The bottom line is players play and coaches coach. Hard decisions need to be made and I for one am going to continue to trust our coaches to hopefully make those decisions quickly. So to all the fans that want to quit on the team and coaches and run for the hills please just calm down and yes I am looking in the mirror as I type this.

Well, for starters, part of that staff, Jeff Scott, is gone And you say hard decisions need to be made. Well, maybe DJ is not meant to be a Starter. Yet I have not seen our coaching staff sit him down for a series, or replace him after failing to sustain some meaningful touchdown drives. Explain that one. You say we are spoiled and demand to make the playoff's each year. Then please tell me how Alabama can replace coaches every year and retool and be the only team that is a shoe in for the CFP's. Yea I know we are not Alabama, but didn't your Head Coach once make the statement: "To be the best, you got to beat the best". Well this year I doubt we get to play the Best.

You make solid points Skip, The truth is we are no where near as talented at offensive line as Alabama is and for some reason our hyper talented QB is not playing up to his abilities. I am afraid all of our back up quarterbacks are bad and not as experienced as DJ so sitting DJ could make things even worse. I believe DJ has to play his way out of this funk he is in. Let’s hope we start improving a lot and quickly and if we don’t we will lose three or four games this year.

Dabo always says "Best is the Standard" at Clemson. Are you actually telling us that the product we're getting/seeing on the offensive side of the ball is the "best"? Come on.....we're loaded with great skill players. We can do better than this.

Didn’t Dabo say this was maybe his most talented team? W T F? Did he mean that, was he blowing smoke, or did he believe it?

Quite honestly I thought we were going to beat the brakes off Georgia. One paper this is the most talented team ever at Clemson. We are not seeing that on the field

Posers who are/were riding the bandwagon of success. 0-12 I’m a Clemson Tiger fan. I much prefer the 12-0 but I’ll always love Clemson. I have my fair share of criticism, too much many times, when our Tigers struggle. But this year seems different.
It is 2014!! DJ is basically Cole Stoudt but is a 5* talent where Cole was maybe a 3*. But the defense carried that team all the way to nearly shutting out Oklahoma 40-6. This team will lean HEAVILY on that defense unless the line & DJ can grow up in a hurry. Go Tigers ????

At some point we have to realize that the national championships are in the past. Like 1981 is. Those years can be used to recruit but only in the short term. Aside from Clemson fans most of the country could care less about the natties and some don't even remember them. The coaching staff is different now than they were then and most importantly the players are different. When things get different you have to adapt. We suck at adaptation and have for several years. Five years from now when we are in the doldrums of the ACC losers are we still going to be saying, "but they won us 2 natties"? The 10 year run is over. The back slapping, good ole boy coaching network needs to be broken up. It's just not working and it's going to cause us to lose the best defensive coordinator in the world.
