Finally got a decent quote on moving

Everybody is either booked solid for months, don't come to BFE, or want 1000 and the time starts when they get in the truck instead of when they're on site.
So if they stop to get breakfast, I'm paying for that.
Finally found a decent quote though that isn't ridculous. I pay for the U-Haul (like $60) and these people, apparently some of Tharealdonjuan's people, will move an entire 3 bedroom house amoun of furniture in 2 hours.

It’s his ####. I don’t give a #### if it gets broken, if 2 hours becomes 6, or if they show up to his house and stand around because what was lost in translation is he has to take everything apart. I really don’t care.
But I’m going to laugh when things don’t turn out the way he expects because he got what he paid for.

If you can speak Spanish or have a connection, you can usually get work done for 1/3rd to 1/2 the price.
They won't have insurance so if they hurt themselves you may be in trouble, but I guess if you don't have anything they can't make anything by suing you.

Not really a pro tip, but don't give them mushrooms. I never added that I took them with them. We forgot that I hired them and they were the movers for about 6 hours. Then after maybe 6 hours they slowly started working. I came back 4 or 5 hours later, who knows, I was trippin, and they had done a pretty good job I guess...good enough. That was one long day. Then the company billed me for 1k more a few weeks later stating that they the job was bigger than they thought it would be and took their workers much longer. I was thinking, of course, because your workers were on mushrooms, but I couldn't say that, so I just paid them and moved on. Yeah, don't take mushrooms with your movers. Not a pro tip.

Nothing really to tell. The mover showed up at may 7:30 am. I paid them their tops in advance. They found some mushrooms in my place because I also paid them to pack the place up. I asked if they wanted to eat them. They said yes. We ate them. The wheels came off for 6 hours while they smoked a few packs a cigarettes on my patio and lets the butts all over the patio. Eventually everyone got normal enough and they started working again and I headed to the bar for about 4 hours or so. When I returned they had it all pretty much packed up. A few weeks later the moving company charged me another 1200 to be precise because it took so long etc etc. End of story.
As far as the "hooker", I never paid her to hook up. I am still friends with her and when I go to Fla I drink with her here and there. I think she found some other sucker to pay her bills.

Hire movers for the job, not by the hour. I've hired multiple by the hour movers and they were always a scam.
One time, one of the guys spent most of the move arguing with some chick on the phone, then he held out his hand for a tip afterwards. Another time, I caught a big burly #### carrying pillows down the stairs one at a time.

they can fit you in for the morning. That way, they are in a hurry to get the eff outta there and onto another higher paying job.
But hey, what do I know. I've only done this about 15x in my life, so I'm no expert or anything.
What you should really do is don't ask anyone you know about who is good, and randomly call up a mover and take the first cheapest one who is available.
