Finally, a real leader speaks

Biden "used my name today to try to further divide America," Trump said in a statement.
"This political theater is all just a distraction for the fact Biden has completely and totally failed."
"Our Country no longer has Borders, has totally and completely lost control of Covid (record numbers!), is no longer Energy Independent, Inflation is rampant, our Military is in chaos, and our exit, or surrender, from Afghanistan was perhaps the most embarrassing day in the long and distinguished history of the United States—and so much more” - Donald J Trump

Trump is no real leader, although I'd agree that if things were good for Biden, there would have been no speech today talking about Trump and his wrong doings.

I agree with this. Also, Trump has some really really BIG ballz saying anything about anyone "dividing America". He was grand master in that department.

WRONG AGAIN. The unhinged, dishonest MSM (esp. CNN & MSNBC) and hateful Dems divided the country by giving Bandon a pass and attacking Trump falsely for 4.5 years! Try to think more objectively. F-

You don't think Biden would have given a speech today?

on the first anniversary of Jan 6th if things were "going well?" C'mon, that downplays the seriousness of what happened on January 6th and something those on the far right believe and which I know you don't.

No, I dont. I think it's mostly just politics.
I do however think Republicans would be doing the same had a D been in charge on January 6.
I think dem politicians for the most part are playing politics and many of us are falling for it hook, line and sinker.
There is a reason Biden is speaking about Trump and NOT his great accomplishments...thats because there are none to speak of.

I'll add, they know they have to keep January 6 at the forefront. They're not idiots.
Polling is terrible. And January 6 is probably the ONLY winning issue democrats have right now.

When should Biden give a speech about Jan 6th?

[ in reply to Re: You don't think Biden would have given a speech today? ] |

and what led to it if not on the anniversary of that event? And the idea of giving a speech on the anniversary of Jan. 6th but it being about your accomplishments would be an embarrassment and horrific to me (and very much something Trump would have done).
If you look at what is happening with the messaging leading up to Jan 6th and what the messaging is within the GOP right now, it's hard to argue there aren't similarities, and pointing those out isn't playing "politics."
Jmho.

I really once thought I was GOP For Life. I voted Perot my first election. After that it was straight GOP...right up until Trump. I couldn't do it. The dude was just loathsome. I couldn't vote for Hillary either. So I did something I've never done before: I sat out an election.
I was appalled Joe Biden was the choice in 2020. I still think he's terrible. You had two capable, sane, intelligent center-left candidates right there in Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar...and we're going with Joe Biden? Lordy.
I still voted for him...and would do it again, because Trump's out to break democracy and obliterate the rule of law...and it's appalling how many people wouldn't just allow it but actively seem to be encouraging it.
It is indeed eerily similar. I imagine our dealing with Trump is how the Roman Republic must have felt when Julius Caesar was at their gates, crossing the Rubicon, and breaking the Republic forever. Rome did limp along as an empire for awhile...but it never was what it had been, and by the end they were suffering the likes of Nero and Caligula...until the barbarians entered Rome.

Also, to point out, I do think it was serious, just not as serious as some want to believe.
I think it was a few idiots, not some coordinated effort and believe those few idiots should spend alot of years behind bars.

the intention of taking over the Capitol - they would have succeeded (at least for a day).
But it was a handful of rubes and then mob-rule took over. 99.9% of the morons chanting "Hang Mike Pence" didn't actually have intentions of hanging Mike Pence...
Not a single gun was brandished - what a pathetic Insurrection.

Stockpile guns in the Capitol Mall, see what happens.
The National Guard will mobilize and be all over you like ugly on an ape. If that doesn't suffice there's a whole bunch of escalating protocols somewhere between "Apache helicopters" to F-35's to carpet-bombing if that's what it takes. But an insurgent army is going to have to fight...well, the Army. And the Air Force.
That rarely turns out well for insurgents.
You can't just build an army and show up at the Capitol Mall. The military will react. The unarmed mob got as far as they got because the armed forces - for whatever reason, and there are several theories - wouldn't react.

Lol.
No longer had borders …. Mostly because the “wall” trump built is shoddy AF and people can easily get around it. Biden in fact has continued trumps immigration and deportation strategy
America is completely independent energy wise. We have loads of resources we can access if we need to but why do that when we can cheaply buy it other places and exhaust their supply thus protecting ours???
Was the departure more embarrassing than trump signing a treaty with the Taliban????
Yes Covid continues to escalate … though largely due to states aligned with trump to undermine Biden.
Anyway. Go back to playing golf orange boy

That wall would be a significant barrier with the supplemental cameras and other technology enhancements that would allow the border patrol to easily monitor and intercept COVID + illegals, drug dealers, human traffickers and terrorists, all welcomed to America by Commie Dems with open arms (IF they vote for us Dems)!

Agreed. So why didn’t it happen in the 4 years trump had? I mean he had the authority and scope to.
So why isn’t it there?

Lil don knows he can get 34.7% of Americans to believe his nonsense, but he also knows he can’t win another election, shyt he never even won a popular vote, so he will keep spinning nonsense to the gullible Trumpers knowing that they will keep sending him money, it’s a masterful plan, and working very well for him, a bit of financial Darwinism.
