I'm following the unfolding dramas of our football team as much as anyone. As Clemson goes, football is my first love.
But Clemson soccer is #2. I was at Riggs the day we beat Eric Wynalda and San Diego State for our second national championship. We haven't won one since 1987.
But this year's version flew cross country and beat the #1 team in the nation on their home field. And we won finally by winning a shootout. For those who don't know, we have a rotten recent history of shootouts.
We're in the Final Four!!
And this was supposed to be a rebuilding year.
Don't overlook what Mike Noonan has done with this program. It too is pretty special.
I posted about it but it got lost in the BV to Oklahoma posts. It's been a great year for soccer and will possibly be even greater soon! Go Tigers! Bring home the soccer cup! BTW, was there for the '87 championship, too.
