final 7 game W/L and tourney scenarios...

It may have a little to do with who we beat (i.e a W vs UVA is much greater than a W against tech) but I'll stick by what I said last week bc I think we did just about what was expected with a 2-4 brutal 6 game stretch...

So here goes...
We gotta have 3 more wins to be a solid NIT team. 2 wins and we'd need some help. That would be a 9-9 or 8-10 finish in conference.

A 4-3 finish would leave us at 10-8, 19-11 and we'd need an ACC tourney run to get in the dance

A 5-2 finish and we'd be on the tourney bubble. That'd put us at 20-10 and 11-7 in league. If we can beat UVA an/or Pitt in that stretch, we may have a chance to sneak in especially if we can get that 21st victory in the account tourney

A 6-1 finish would give us a 21-9 and 12-6 record and there is no way we are left out with that solid resume.

And obviously a 7-0 finish would give us 22 wins and 13 conference wins which would be unprecedented here at Clemson. We'd finish in the top 5 of the acc and would make a strong case to be a 5 seed or higher in the tourney.

I am holding out hope and I'll be pulling like crazy for this team till the bitter end.

...sealed our fate. We are not a tourney team. Absolutely must win that game, especially after forcing 2 OTs. ND is not good.

You're right, they aren't good. We looked like a tired team in the 2nd OT, but should've won the game before it even got to the first OT.

It continues to amaze me how poor of a shooting team we are, and I'm talking about medium range and in. Nnoko was 1 for 6 tonight, and all but one of those six were within five feet of the basket. He's just not aggressive enough around the rim. Instead of that jump hook from three feet, he should just dunk that mutha! As much as he gets the ball as close to the basket as he does, he should average double figures in scoring.

Oh, well, maybe next year with more experience and coaching for him. As far as shooters go, I understand that Rooks is supposed to be good from mid range and out, but does anyone know about Devoe? We better get some scorers, 'cause if KJ continues to play as he's been playing, we'll lose our leading scorer/rebounder to the NBA.

Tourny or not those two records are awesome considering what most thought would be a horrible year.

At the end of it all I think 21 wins will get them into the the ncaa's I just don't know if we have 6 more wins in us. I think we will be favored in 4-5 of them.

If we can go into our last game (at home against Pitt) with a 4-2 record, which I think is the most likely scenario, then I think that game will decide our tourney fate. Could be a very clear win and we are in situation. If it comes to that I really hope we can pack Littlejohn and give ourselves a little more of an advantage.
