Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.

Some non- profits do have teeth, most don't

Apr 18, 2014, 3:47 PM

One thing that non- profits do is lobby lawmakers and regulators, but for their lobbying to be effective, they have to show that they've got a large constituency. FFRF's constituency is militant atheists, of which, fortunately, there are very few in the US. So they have almost no power over legislation or regulation. Their only power comes from letter writing campaigns and press releases that they hope will generate attention. That's why the best thing for Clemson people would be just to ignore these guys, because all they can do is complain and hope somebody listens to them.

Please stop making so much sense. It hurts my liberal soul to agree with you so much.

I hope they have teeth where it really counts, and it's for sure not football.
Living in a state like South Carolina, the judicial system is what I'm concerned about. Hiding behind the cloak of religion like most politicians do, Judges judging, jury's judging based on some kind of religious authority they think they have and making laws based on religious beliefs and just wrong. I remember the "Blue" laws . Religion is a fine opiate for those who will have it, but once it jumps out of your heart and onto your sleeve, you've lost all credence with me. "The laws of God, the laws of man, he can have who will and can. Not I! There deeds I've judged and much condemn, yet when did I make laws for them? And if my ways are not as there's, let them mind there own F###### affairs!" Put my hand on a Bible and swear what?!

Apr 18, 2014, 5:19 PM

Smh. I can't wait for this to pass. Something football related had better happen between now and the draft. Can we get back to landblasting the coots, please.
