Re: Ferrell/Bryant highlights. Who plays more this year?

Apparently Ferrell was medically cleared 2 months ago, and is now up to 255 lbs (after playing at 225-235 last season) and will be full go when he gets on campus. Bryant is also up to about 260. I think Ferrell is more of a WDE with Bryant potentially pulling more reps at SDE. With Ebo gone, I could see both of them avoiding a redshirt - depending on how well they acclimate to the speed of the game and pick up the playbook.

Ferrell seems like more of a hitter to me. Great athleticism and projects le frame. Definitely a WDE through and through. Bryant could play either. Surprising bend and athleticism for his size and solid footwork but I'd like to see him put a few more big hits on people at the high school level (although he did have a few Night Train Neckties in there!)

Yup. Bryant was recruited as a strongside guy. I'd personally expect Ferrell to be our #2 on the weak side behind Lawson. The other weakside ends behind Lawson didn't exactly put their name up in lights this Spring. Talented, but were still swimming, it looked like. We tend to recruit these guys who are 6'4"+ and 215 or 220 coming out high school who have that uber-sudden first step...we've had a lot of luck developing these guys, but they usually do take a couple of years in the weightroom to develop.
Both guys will have to play, without Ebo. (Aaargh. That still stings. Ebo looked good this Spring, durnit.)
Another guy who could factor at strongside is Huggins, who wants to be a strongside end as well, but probably does project long-term as a DT. He definitely showed his quality this Spring...he's raw, but he's another talent.
We've recruited very well, on the DL, but you still hate seeing a guy as talented as Ebo blow himself up off the field right as it looked like he was blowing up on it. Do hope the guy gets it together and finds another situation; he's got the goods to be an NFL player.
Well, Marion Hobby is one of the best DL coaches there is. Vic Beasley was a case study in good technique - perfect technique, actually. Hobby's got some very good, if very raw talent to work with...hopefully Hobby will show us why he earns his money, this year.

Agreed, Hobby can really earn his pay here & Bryant nor Huggins should have issues

And if they're not already, I hope they start REALLY taking seriously the diet regimen, their individual weight room plans and the playbook they were sent. Need these guy ready DAY 1. Sammy Watkins style.

Lol @ around the 45 second mark in Ferrell's highlights . A house inside the stadium , with the fam all hangin' out in the front yard watching the game. Never seen that before. School must have needed that land really badly.

That wasn't actually a home though right? Looks more like a field house with the golf carts and other equipment stuff around there

Whoever's healthier?

Ferrell tore his ACL in the fall and Bryant had some sort of foot injury that made him miss the end of his season and all star game.
I'd say whoever shows up healthier will play more.

I think Bryant is more game ready right now though simply because coming back from an ACL is tough for explosive guys like Ferrell

Being cleared doesn't equal 100% though. I think you're right and Bryant will be more ready to go on day 1.
