“You can have all the non-football speed in the world, but if it doesn’t translate to the field, it really doesn’t matter”

…Tavien Feaster

I think you're right about that. There seemed to be something missing with Feaster football-wise. I remember a guy on our team who was our fastest player from point A to point B, but stopping and restarting, and changing directions were really not his cup of tea. He played both FB and Track at Clemson, and he was/is a great guy. Interesting, but he told me that when he ran the 100yd dash on our track team, he didn't breathe until he crossed the finish line. It only took about 9.5 seconds, but try running as fast as you can without breathing. I couldn't do it. Those guys are very special.

Feaster would drop on the first hit. Great guy

But easily brought down.

Watch the winning drive versus Syracuse with Chase Brice at QB. You might change your mind.

Carter gets it! “Football speed vs track speed” ...

Apr 23, 2022, 12:08 PM

Carter knows he’s fast, and even joked that he might have to race fellow linebacker Trenton Simpson at some point before the season to determine which one has the most speed. But he also knows there is a difference between racing speed and football speed.

“You can have all the non-football speed in the world, but if it doesn’t translate to the field, it really doesn’t matter,” he said. “So, just having that football speed where you can be twitchy and explosive can help you really step up your game to the next level and just help you play a lot of different positions.”

Isaiah Simmons, Part Deaux?

Now, THAT would be useful, to say the least!
