Sad story about one of my all-time favorite Tigers.

Sep 24, 2015, 11:13 AM

I hope he can find the willpower to help himself.

Help himself? To cure himself of a debilitating disease?

Fridge worked for a long time after football. Everything from pitch man to brick layer. He slowly gave those things up when he was unable to continue, not due to laziness but to illness.

If he's drinking when he shouldn't be and allowed his weight to balloon like that then there are obviously things he could be doing to help himself.

IMHO and experience it is not about willpower but I understand what you

Mean. The only way for him to get better is to have the desire to get help. Without that there is nothing anyone can do for him. The people need help would fill Death Valley! The people that want it would fill Little John by 25%. Just is what it is.

Prayers that he will find what he needs!

William needs to get off his duff and get busy.

People still love Fridge and he could make a good living IF he decides to. Very frustrating to watch.
Pray for this man.

Sep 24, 2015, 12:32 PM

Guillain-Barre syndrome ain't no joke. And yes I am sure William could use your prayers.

Why don't you get a clue DH

Alcoholism is his biggest problem holding him back.***

Walk a mile in his shoes and then tell him his problems

Sep 26, 2015, 11:20 AM

You don't know why, and even if, he drinks. Some people drink to self medicate and it sure sounds like he's got his share of pain. I'm sure he wakes up in the morning and feels like crap. Add on what's become of his life and what it was in the past .... I'd be drinking. There may be some things that he needs to do to face whatever demons torment him but saying things like "He needs to get off his duff ... etc" are easy to say and harder to do; especially when it's physically impossible to him to literally do that. He obviously has some problems - there's no need to pile on here. Pray for the man and his family; any action that's necessary is purely up to him.
