Really man? This is the same guy that called games during our championship run. You realize recruits and their families read this stuff. Don't let them think we're the kind of fans that call for heads as soon as things aren't perfect

Yeaaaaa, relax man. Criticism is fine. If a recruit and/or his family reads TigerNets message board and says "oh my god, a fan criticized a coach!" and then chooses elsewhere, it's probably best that they didn't come to Clemson.
Lord help them if they go to VolNation.
In other news, our offensive play calling has been absolutely hideous the past two weeks. Totally unacceptable and nowhere near where we need to be if we're going to be successful. The fact that Watson threw the ball 28 times in the second half, while Gallman had 4 carries, is absolutely sickening. Elliot & Scott need to get their heads out of their #####, as do Deshaun and Dabo. Pathetic showing today.

Yep, I think that Elliott has been scrapping CM's play book, and making one of his own. Our offense had continually been taking a step back is what I honestly believe. His play calling just ain't working and they are bogging the offense down until DW4 has to take off after he is surrounded. I mean what other answer is it bc, I don't think that DW4 is getting worse or slacking. We are recruiting as good or better than we were when CM was on the sideline. Something drastic has happened with the offensive side of the ball, what do y'all think it is? All OC's like to run their own plays!!!

I agree. Something major has changed. DW is in the pocket far too long. I sit behind the Clemmons bench and there was zero sense of urgency today. No one seemed to care that we were playing like the tommy Bowden era. People are rightly concerned.

I didn't think in the specific terms of "Bowden era", but you are right. No sense of urgency, the offensive plays looked tired and predictable. Troy seemed to know what we were going to do on every play. We are getting too far away from the offense that Morris installed. It looked like Rob Spence was calling the plays out there. And also, why does DW4 never keep the ball on the zone read? I don't think his key is always telling him to hand it off. He looks hesitant to run.

Did you even watch our games last year? If you think we ran CMs playbook you weren't paying attention. Elliott has always been his own man. Leadership and confidence make play calling a lot easier. The coaches need to get these boys ready and the players need to take responsibility before it is too late. You don't get second chances.

He needs to find CM's play book, and throw his in the trash can. His isn't worth the paper it's wrote on!!!

Hey guys... Don't forget we had a punt and two passes dropped that would have been touchdowns. Go Tigers

I for one think the play calling is fine. How about some attitude and effort? They looked flat as Kansas and sort of like this game wasn't worthy of their time. Big mistake and nothing to do with what play is being run. They better wake up and smell the coffee before Louisville rolls into town. Louisville is like us last year - hungry. Obviously hungry. Think our boys drank waaaaayy too much coolaid this summer. No sense of urgency whatsoever is my biggest disappointment not the playcalling. Play calling isn't rocket science.

Play calling is pretty important, and I think any reasonable fan should be talking about it right now...Gallman carried the ball 4 times in the second half while Watson threw the ball 28 times. That's alarming. You may not believe it's rocket science, but it at least requires some attention and right now it's a complete & utter mess.

Play calling is okay. The run game isn't and hasn't been that great last year or now if you ask me. Those stats are padded by a lot of sweeps and big runs against weak teams. The scheme doesn't open up against the good teams unless the passing works. Most teams do it the other way around, run to open the pass. Gallman is tough but when's the last time if ever, he broke one against a good team and took it to the house?

Lack of focus and lack of motivation. Coaches and players are all the right people. The head coach needs to find a way to light a fire without tearing everyone down. Time for some tough love. Freggin Heisman Candidate QB pinging Top WR's on the numbers and they keep dropping the ball. How do you fix that?

Elliott found Rob Spence's Playbook: Bubble Screens!
Sep 11, 2016, 3:05 PM
|
|
What the crap was that running at least two bubble screens during the game?! They never worked ( eventually got Spence fired ) and probably never will. I thought that the sorry play calling for the Auburn game would have been recognized and trashed, but I was wrong. Play to win with the best QB in the land and all the other talent that we have! And, stop running out of bounds when you need to stay in ( Gallman! ), dropping catchable passes ( Scott, Cain, Thompson, others! ), overthrowing open receivers ( Watson! ), and "showboating" before crossing the goal line ( McCloud! ). These things WILL HELP the cause...
