Clemson is #450 out of 423 in Hockey? Sounds about right.
Nevertheless impressive.

it's a sleepy town with lots of old people. It probably does have a lot of sports bars b/c of tourism tho.

That's great for Clemson, but I question the methodology

For example, Clemson is ranked as the #24 city overall for basketball, when Clemson basketball has lacked fan support for years and years. Yet, the reason for Clemson's relatively high ranking in basketball is that they have Clemson ranked as the #2 city in the country in basketball for "Cost and Fan Engagement."
I can buy Clemson's high ranking in football though.

Death Valley does not look like a small town, especially with about 40,000 outside tailgating and can't get in....
More like a small to medium city. Seven Saddys a year!!!!

I heartily agree with this ranking.
Back in the 80's they had a half-decent Sallie league baseball team, and they had an ECHL team for a few years that was popular. But otherwise? Florence is a sports desert for 60 miles in any direction.

Add" to live in" and the ranking is obvious. I would add oxford, Ms to the list even though not a fan of their team.
