D. Watson

Nov 3, 2013, 6:03 PM

If he starts his freshman year...he will be better then Winston...thats a fact

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Even if our offensive line play remains the same?

Nov 3, 2013, 6:09 PM

It's going to have to improve. Though it does appear that Watson may have a better pocket presence. Time will tell.

this is true..but i have full confidence our OL play will get much much better..in the next coming weeks and next year...the future for Clemson Football is very high right now! Go Tigers

OL needs to improve but they did. Look good on the long pass

he is 180 lbs. if he starts as a freshman, he will get broke.

He enrolls in January...Clemson will have a little bit of

Hasn't been hurt in high school after taking many shots.***

He'd have to be..

Nov 3, 2013, 6:12 PM

to actually start as a true freshman, barring a streak of injuries. We have two talented, experienced QBs waiting to take over and make their own mark. Better to let Watson spend a year learning the college game and getting stronger.

come on guys. I'm excited about him too but the team the other night was over matched high school kids. lets let him get to college before we proclaim him as the next anything

Agreed, a RS year would benefit him tremendously***

Next year is going to be awful with the QB situation.

Nov 3, 2013, 9:53 PM

With the first 3 and out or interception people will be clamoring for the backup. It has been so very nice these 3 years knowing who the guy was without question. I also think Stout isn't in the equation unless the actual running backs improve. This O still needs the QB running it seems.

Re: Next year is going to be awful with the QB situation.

Nov 4, 2013, 7:40 AM

Having a mobile QB presents more options. (and is harder to defend)

However, if you have a guy that knows the offense (who has game experience) I think you can convince yourself that you can teach him how to be a more effective runner.

Re: Next year is going to be awful with the QB situation.

Nov 4, 2013, 7:46 AM

It looks like Clemson will have 3 viable options at QB. (that all bring something different to the table)

I hope they add some quality O-lineman that can improve both the QB/RB positions and a RB/FB with some size/speed.

Re: Next year is going to be awful with the QB situation.

Nov 4, 2013, 7:47 AM

yep those 610 yard days are just unacceptable huh

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Next year is going to be awful with the QB situation.

Nov 4, 2013, 12:39 PM

610 yards are more than anyone can ask for.

I'm just trying to add more diversity/talent to the offense, so that they can look just as good against teams like FSU.

D. Watson - plus he was big disappointment at elite 11***

Nov 3, 2013, 11:57 PM [ in reply to D. Watson - plus he was big disappointment at elite 11*** ]

Dual Threat. Besides, 3 or 4 seconds to stand in the pocket to throw the ball to the least of talent receiver who gave no help nor effort against those dbs who had been playing for a while before Watson enter the game. In a competition of such, you need a complete team effort. He had no big target receivers on his team. Better long, receiver with great hand under pressure.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Close to impossible.***

His heros Winston and Tajh were redshirted - he may be?

Nov 3, 2013, 6:32 PM

Seniority counts for Tigers - Stoudt starter next year, then Chad the next then Watson barring injuries and hope/expect all of them go high in draft!

hope he redshirts***

Watson will have to be exceptional. Winston is the real deal.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Remember that Winston...

Nov 3, 2013, 9:42 PM

..is a RS freshman! May be best to let him get that extra year in too.

Nov 3, 2013, 11:19 PM

Your right your right..i think whenever he does start he will be phenomenal i really do...has all the tools and is physically gifted. Throws a better ball then Winston too..he will be one of the best QB's we've ever had i have that gut feeling!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are we getting FSU's offensive line to go with Watson?***

over the years, but this is right up there with it at all.

There's like a .0000000000000000000000001% chance that what you just said is true.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

far from a fact. Winston was behind EJ his true frosh year

Nov 5, 2013, 11:32 AM

there is no proven starter behind Tajh. Totally different situation.
