and what we mean by that is that MOST of our goals are gone. Vanished.
The only question coming into this season was beating Georgia and SCar. We had a great schedule, and FSU at home. Now we're hoping for two losses from them, and 5 teams losing games before years end (nationally).
At this point, beating SCar is the only thing left on the table. If we go to a BCS Bowl game... great. But we better show up... don't want another Orange Bowl debacle.

this year than last. You keep building. 10 wins -- then 11 wins -- and then 12 wins. As you build you put the pieces in place to accomplish even more. Yes we are all not happy about FSU but there is much to play for this year.

Every year, no matter what and as long as we beat SC an end the season in the top 10 it is a great season!

Next year will be with a new QB, No sammy, Likely no Bryant if he gets any sort of middle to later round grade, No Beasley.
We will have some unproven RBs, unproven line, secondary should be better, LBs cant get any worse ( i still do not think they are producing to their abilities.)

and we lost to USF in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.
I'd say if you polled Tiger Fans 3 years ago, and you asked them, "Hey, would you take a 6-1 record and a ranking of 9 seven games into the season?" every single Tiger fan would say "YES SIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".

Not sure what planet some folks are on, but the one I'm on went from 10 win seasons in the late 80s being the norm to scrapping for middling bowls with no shot at beating top 10, or in some seasons even top 20, level schools. We've lost three games in two years, all to top 10 teams, and beaten more top 10 teams since 2011 than 90-2010 combined. This will be a double digit win season again. Not even Danny Ford put two 11 win seasons together back to back.
Losing sucks, getting whipped sucks worse than that, but I'll take 2013 over anything I experienced from 1991-2010.

Would anyone really be upset with 13-1, a win over the coots, and a BCS bowl win? That can all still happen.
I remember polls before the season started. Which game do you want to win the most, UGA, FSU, or USC? The majority of people on Tigernet chose USC and most of the rest voted for UGA. I was one of the few people that said FSU b/c the road to all of the championship hardware went through them. Have people changed their tune now?? Is the season over after losing to FSU?

with anything short of perfection which is surprising considering that we have only experienced one such season in the modern era of college football.
Prior to 1981, Clemson's last undefeated season was in 1948. Prior to that it was 1906, and prior to that it was 1900. Although, Frank Howard did go 9-0-1 in 1950.

So now that we've lost a game can we all just get past it and regroup? No? Didn't think so. I must be the only one not standing on a ledge. I hate losing just as much as everyone else but I don't think one loss defines a season or our program.
Yes, these blow outs have got to stop but atleast we now know what we aren't. We're one of over 110+ teams with a loss. Shame on us? Know how many of those teams wish they had what we do. And now is a good time buy stock in us. Maryland, UVA, GT.... we will bounce back. We will only climb higher.
Watch closely over the next few weeks as teams drop like flies- Mizzery will lose, Texas Tech will lose, Stanford/ Oregon matchup, Ohio St can lose at anytime, and I highly doubt Baylor can keep this up and run the table.
So unlike most folks, I'm ok with 12-1. How great will it be to win the state championship? Awesome! How about a Sugar Bowl win over an over hyped OSU? Yes, you'd be happy. And if loyalty, pride, and 12-1 isn't good enough...... then perhaps go be another lame,Roll Tide-SEC loving, Finebaum-listening, spineless entity.
