Nope. I'll be a big man and eat my crow. Judge was correct. He said we should at least give brownell one more year. I now agree. Others have stated that as well and learning the facts of his recruiting class last year and this year, I concur.
Let's see what he can do.

JK isn't the only one who's stuck by CBB through thick and thin although he and many others act like it.

Two top 5 wins in 10 years does not signal that things have changed. Let's see ho the season plays out. Personally, if we don't finish with this level of effort combined with good play, and if we don't make any tournament, then I think it's time for new leadership.

The effort hasn’t faltered though they games where they didn’t play well.
Talent is evolving and higher rated talent is coming in as a result of good recruiting. NCAA or NIT, at this point for this season does not change anything, good or bad in terms of leadership changes or not.

the ups and downs of effort haven't changed in 10 years

And we've had enough players to make the big dance in more than 2x in 10 years. I like some of the young players, but until we can fix the wildly inconsistent level of effort and execution we will be the same middling team regardless of players. We typically play with decent effort but execution falters. The level of effort hasn't changed over 10 years. It is what it is and will always be.
The season after the sweet 16 seems to be a clear indicator of the inconsistency. Too many flat games and lack of outright execution. Save for getting hot with Gabe Devoe, we have seen this act play out out every season.
I absolutely think we have the personnel to make the NIT, unless we see more of the flat games and poor execution. If we show that, then we need to make a change to a more consistent coaching philosophy.

Na. Him being vocal about his opinion doesn’t mean he thought he was the only one supporting Brad.
I’m glad we won and I hope it continues.

Some have been taken as such with extreme prejudice. I’m ok being wrong about what I think this program is capable of and there have been many reasons to think the opposite this season, but I never have understood why the guy gets torched for being enthusiastic for stating the same.
The future based on tonight looks bright! Happy for these awesome kids!

against all odds. I'll admit it too... I was ready to can Brownell a couple years ago. Whether it all works our or not longterm, we'll see. I just give him credit for never wavering and taking it on the chin for quite a while. He may end up being right, who knows...
This was all just in fun, nothing more.

Who knows is right. How many days ago was it we only scored 14 points in the first half? If we stay like this we can finally win the ACCT.

We beat the fifth ranked team in the country, the second top five win this season.
We are 13-12 yep, but tonight was a great win. One I’m proud of.

Just not sure anyone has been proven "right" at this point. I hope we become consistently good over the next few years.
Whether or not that happens, we have been terribly inconsistent over the previous 9 years. That will not change.
This is the point of view of an objective observer.
If we are successful going forward, everybody wins.
This is pumper/dumper crap is ridiculous.

I’m not advocating right or wrong. All I’m stating is we had a good win as well as a few significant milestones this season.
I would argue that my viewpoint is just as objective and also understand if we differ in view that you feel the same.
I’m not a pumper, but I’ll be ###### if I’ll be a dumper.

I wasn't making a statement about your personal objectivity

it was a general statement.
There are a buttload of people who just show up and complain and shout "fire Brownell!" Can't stand it.
There are a handful that excuse everything and then act like we won the national title after every win. Highly annoying.
There is a middle ground - shaky, inconsistent history with Brownell, including this year. But certainly some great high points worth celebrating.

What the deal is but some games we stand around on O. Not today. I really liked the movement and the screens. On ball and off ball. And I thought we played very well on D. Good anticipation and getting in the passing lanes. And we played ok in the zone too.

Even if we had lost a tight one with the effort we gave tonight.
I’ve been harsh about Brownell again this year. But the team has finally shown some fight the past few games. And that’s what so frustrating. It’s like we screw around until the season is almost over (excluding the big games with UNC and DUKE) and then we decide it’s time to start playing hard. Or we play harder against the ranked teams (Bowden?). Guess what - we don’t get a pass into the NCAA tourn just for being in the ACC. We have to fight each and every game. Have a consistent mindset and consistent fight. And a lot of that is on the coach. Now, we are young this year. But I’ve grown weary of “waiting until next year” for basketball. However, we should have a good squad next year. I’m glad I have jinxed the team into playing hard. Let’s see how the year finishes. It’s too little too late for the tourney, but maybe we can make the NIT

It was and is a funny post. I was just trying to be sincere and agree with judge's last heartfelt well constructed post concerning Clemson basketball. I don't keep up with basketball recruiting at all. When I looked at all the facts and the arguments for keeping Brad one more year, I changed my mind.

Brownell is a decent coach but his results

Tell the story....just look at this season, we have great wins and fanbase is excited now but then you look up and see we are 500 and no shot at making the NCAA tourney unless we win out (which isn't crazy). In all likelihood we lost one game this week.
Everyone says next year will be great bc of some returnees and highly ranked freshman (minus any highly touted offers though?) But I just can't buy into that. I see veteran team full of average dudes who overachieve at times but a season full of games tells the real story. Last year we were pressing top 20..and how'd that go?
Brownell ain't bad but he ain't necessarily good either. We'll make the tourney once every 4-5 years and he'll always keep us in the hunt. At Clemson, that's job security when football is rolling
