Everyone has pointed to 2016 as "our year", but...

we lose some key guys to our defense in Lawson, Kearse, and Mac.
We also have away games at Auburn, at FSU, at GT.
Maybe 2015 should be "our year". Why not now?

I believe in NOW! In January I put up $1k at 22 to 1 that the Tigers would make the playoffs this year. Reason is that next year our "tough"games are on the road Auburn, FSU, G. Tech. I believe we will do it this year IF our coaches open up the offense and start getting more creative and less predictable.

We had 22-1 odds to make the playoffs???? ####, I should've put some money down on that.

I agree. Why not us? Why not now?
Offense should be better; defense could as well, but several could jump to NFL. Let's get it done now!

Agree! I think the people who pointed out 2016 as our year were assuming all juniors you mentioned return for their senior years. Wow, would this team be scary good if that was the case.

we actually don't even have another Kevin Dodd ready right now....

BJ Goodson goes too, as well as DJ Reader (even as he's not there right now).
I think you're spot on - and we'd better really try to grow some guys up on the back end of this schedule after beating Ga Tech, or we won't be ready for the ACCCG/bowl/playoff much less next year.
Given the playmakers we lose after this year, the defense might take a bigger step back next year than it will end up taking this year ....
That being said, I think all Register, Yeargin, J Robinson, Bryant, Fields, J Gobson, Josephs, Huggins, S Johnson, T Muse, Ferrell, and J Williams need to be great
is snaps....

icing on the cake. Of course, they don't look very good so far this season. Maybe we're having the same type deal where we were off by a season. One can only hope. We can also hope to have multiple great seasons!

Lawson is almost certainly gone and Kearse is likely, but Mac could stay. He did not get any preseason love and as such has been overlooked by the media much this year. That doesn't necessarily matter to NFL scouts, but media hype certainly helps. I could see him staying another year. Atleast we are relatively deep and experienced at safety and corner compared to some other positions. Lawson leaving will hurt, especially for the opener against Auburn. If we are truly great next year though, then the schedule shouldn't matter too much. GT losses a lot after this year and will be very beatable next year. FSU will have to replace another QB. Auburn doesn't scare me right now and they may have a lot of defensive talent go pro after this year.
