Every One Need To Calm Down About Morris...And the Tigers

Aug 31, 2014, 7:54 AM

Look..We lost. Sh!t happens. Move on. It sucks....UGA's Defense figured out Cole Stoudt's style and he because extremely one dimensional...Cole was no threat to run the ball, he held the ball too long and didn't move well in the pocket. Also, he was telegraphing his passes really bad....Furthermore, we had a ton of dropped passes and either Cole wasn't reading the defenses well or our receivers were not getting good separation....FOLKS, THIS IS NOT LAST YEARS OFFENSE!!

It is one thing to anticipate and estimate on past experiences, but now that we have seen out players in a real game against a solid opponent, this is where Chad Morris, Brent Venables and Dabo and the rest of the staff have to evaluate what we now know and coach these boys up and make the proper corrections...That is the way things work....If they fail then bring out the boiling oil..

We have become rather spoiled and some years you are going to have some growing pains...this is one of those years.

This game wasn't necessarily lost by Morris, Dabo, Veneables or even Cole Stoudt with his short commings...This game was lost on big special teams screw-ups on our team that had a dramatic change in the momentum of the game that allowed UGA's Offense and Defense play their games and force us out of our game....

If you feel the need to be over-critical I would start ob Special teams........

The only real critical thing I was say about Morris is that I am not sure I would have pulled Watson after that first series.....unless he doesn't know the playbook that well.

I'll save my criticisms for after the FSU game....Some series adjustments should have been made by then.

Stop it. We gained 276 yards in the first half and finished with 291. Didn't matter which QB played, we got scared and shut down the play book. Morris admitted as much. And yes, special teams sucked. But the O had been clicking despite a few drops and 1 pick. You don't just pack it in and leave it on the D all second half.

I think Morris ratted on Dabo.

Morris wasn't navigating he was just steering.

As I Said.......

They figured out Cole Stoudt's mannerisms and adjusted. Once you figure out that he is going to camp out in the pocket...not check down on his reads and will not run the ball, then the UGA defense just pined their ears back and exposed Cole Stoudt's weakness and exploited that. The Dropped passes didn't help much either.

If Chad Kelly had not have show his a$$ and got kicked off the team he could have come in and mixed it up with his running ability.

Can we just grieve a little first?

I'm not much for lashing out at the source of my grief as some here but I can understand their emotions. My knees have just about quit jerking, I'll be OK.

Nice post. This team is just not the same team from the past couple of years. Just don't see 10-2, maybe 9-3 but most likely 8-4 and that would be an accomplishment. Just no playmakers on this team yet. Some good young players that need experience but nobody that good defenses are going to have to gameplan for especially in the running game. Might be better - IF the OLINE can adequately protect, to go ahead play Watson as well as any of the freshman RBs and work for the future.

Going to be up and down this year but a win vs SCAR will make it all better!

I think we need a little perspective here. Losing this game means nothing compared to he FSU game coming up. Is it possible we didn't want to open the playbook too much? If we win that game we prob go to acc championship game. Maybe Gallman takes a larger role in that game...

Clearly DeShawn looked sick and will add a dimension to our offense, but personally I like how much he played. He now has a week to see what worked on that first drive and what didn't on the second. Leave cole in charge of the offense because I feel he can distribute if offensive line, field position and play calling were improved.

With Dashawn we are making our qb the main playmaker, which is dangerous for injury and possibly fumble reasons. As long as we have this talent at WR, let's allow Cole to give them the ball in space and see what we can do instead of more qb draws. Let deshawn take maybe 1/3 of drives so he can bring that added dimension. If we struggle against FSU, we can switch it up quickly and try to change the momentum.

Obviously our online got tired in second half, but not surprising how much they had to play with our lack of depth at tackle. That's my main concern followed by our front 7 failing to dominate like I thought they would.

I have lots of faith in our team to get ready. We have seen where we need to be if we are serious about nation championships. I have faith in the team and coaches to make the appropriate adjustments.
