Would we be number 1 ??

If Trevor had come back & Played our 1st 4 games. I think we assumed it was the teams talent & not Trevor making our offense look so incredible but Trevor was a smooth operator at QB.
Had DJ not played so well last year our expectations would be different. He has the ability to be a very good college QB, let’s hope he puts it all together soon.

I'm not sure even Trevor could have us looking like the last 6-7 years at this point. There's something off about the offense. I think there is blame to go around: playcalling sucks (whatever the coaches want to say), the OLine is as porous and yet still bad at run-blocking as any we've had recently, the receivers/TE aren't catching the balls that make it to them, and the RBs are significantly behind where ETN was. In short, the entire offense just stinks right now. I'm just hoping BC doesn't embarrass us this weekend. I'll be in my normal seat in the north stands cheering regardless, but it is certainly baffling after being told all spring how awesome we would be.

It’s a hypothetical, but no question that Trevor is more talented than DJ. No question we would have scored more than 7 points per game more in each game with Trevor. Just look at how many open receivers are missed by a mile this year.

Eventhough Trevor and ETN were apt to make a big play here

and there last two years.. i never thought our offense was fluid and ever really got a consistent rhythm. I thought Trevor or ETN had to create some type of chunk play and thats how we moved the ball. I think thats why TE harps on execution being the key. The plays are hard to make that he's calling and probably easy to defend. Therefore execution is the problem.
I'd love to see us go uptempo and methodical and take shots at key moments. But to go up tempo we need to window dress on every play and confuse the defense. That eventually wears the defense down by games end but...we're not doing any of that. I think we're just calling base passing routes and hoping our athletes will "out-athlete" the other teams player.
IT just seems like the past 3 years its been really hard to create and sustain offensive momentum. But yet i watch a team like Ohio State have wide open receivers routinely and have jet sweeps that go for 30 yards b/c they were setting it up the whole time.. They have a scheme that they run. We seem to just call plays and hope for precise execution of our 5 star Wr's. Remember the catches that Ngata was having to make against UGA. They were unbelievably difficult contested balls. So if we're relying on that being our consistent offense then..good luck.

Well ,he didn't and and we are not even top 10, everyone knows what the first 3 letters in assumed spells, there was a singe named SADE who sung Smooth Operator ,which had nothing to do with a quarterback, and DJ played last year with a different set of players and I won't compare the two and one more loss and the only thing D J will put together is a bucket of chicken from BOJANGLES. Anything else!

Yeah, very likely.
99% of our troubles (and yes, that includes the OL issues) are stemming from the QB - mostly the decision making speed. Just getting DJ to a execution-level play seems to be foundational at this point.
Playcalling? Well folks keep forgetting that TE is having to make it easier for DJ right now. With TL, there would be a lot more options available.
Would the OL be better - darn certain. Even with the Jawja game, the OL provided good pass protection. Most of the 7 sacks were because DJ could not decided what to do with 5 seconds. Give TL 5 seconds and it is a TD.
WR? Yeah, you just need to get them in the right spot and TL would have the ball there waiting. DJ is struggling to get the ball on the right side of the field, let alone to the WR.
RB? How much better would any running game be if you had any semblance of a passing threat? Sure it might not be ETN levels, but a lot easier on the new guys.

No, but Clemson would be 4-0 because Dabo said we are a play or two away. He also said it would be ugly wins. He would be right about that because there would still be no run game.Trevor would have clicked with Ross much more than DJ right now. Throws even delivered under pressure would have been accurate and pop passes would have been thrown with touch. Trevor would have scanned the field and thrown receivers open. There’s a huge gap between Trevor and DJ right now in various aspects of QB play.
