ETN workload during our games. Does this help him or

hurt him when it comes to the draft?

I can see both sides of the argument:

Plus: Low number of carries has reduced wear and tear on the body, he should be fresh.

Minus: Low number of carries means we (Pro teams) do not know if he could be an every down guy in the league. Will he hold up over four quarters and a lot of work?

Thoughts?

Have you ever seen him tired?

Neither have I.

Yes, I have. But, that was after 3 straight carries, so

justifiably so. That's when they hustle Lyn-J in there for a few plays to give Travis a breather.

Paying dividends now...and will in the NFL. Getting 20 carries/game isn't the norm any longer...but getting 20 touches...that's a solid goal. With ETN's production, even 15 touches/game could be 100 yards of total offense to a team. Barring anything unforeseen, he will be fresh when he enters the draft...this, or next year.

The NFL isn't worried about his number of carries. If

anything, they're loving the fact our coaches haven't run him into the ground. If he blows up in the playoffs like he did against Bamuh last year, it's all a moot point.

Being an every down back has nothing to do with conditioning.

It has to do with a player's skillset.

Can he catch? Can he pass block? Does he have enough burst to get 10-15 yards on a surprise draw play on 3rd down?

ETN checks all of those boxes at this point and will continue to improve with pass catching and pass blocking.

There are very few NFL RBs who carry the ball 20-25 times a game anymore.

The elite RBs touch the ball 20-25 times because they are catching 4 or 5 passes per game also.

The game has changed at the NFL level.

The NFL has primarily moved to teams using committees

So even at the NFL-level, he'd probably be used similarly. This year in the NFL, there are only 2 RBs averaging over 20 carries per game, and 13 RBs averaging over 15 carries per game. Less than half of the teams have a RB averaging even 15 carries per game.

Etienne has proved he can handle 15 carries per game, so I don't think the "minus" is an issue.

The "plus" that he hasn't been exposed to as much wear and tear and he's mainly avoided injury should help his draft status.
