If I counted right Wisconsin had as many in the top 20 (4) as the ACC did in the top 100.

That is a slap in the face for Clemson Football and CJ Spiller. CJ should definitely be in the best top 50. He succeeded on Clemson Teams when we were winning 7-9 games per season and there was less money being infused into the program.

I use to really enjoy watching him break big plays with such ease. Man he made it look effortless because he was so talented.

No time to look at the article, but are they going through all the position groups? If so, CJ will be high on the return specialist list.

But I agree, I love ETN, but CJ was mister excitement. Granted, ETN has him on the stats page.

Spiller was fabulous “in space” ... many times he created

his own “space”, but ETN was a much more complete RB.

This is no intended disrespect to CJ ... CJ was probably the greatest all purpose offensive player in ACC history

He most definitely is due Top 100 status as just a RB.

Spiller was super exciting, but Etienne was a better RB.

It’s almost impossible to compare. Passing efficiency during ETN’s tenure was off the chart and took a lot of pressure off. The play calling was also significant better. CJ was often the number one concern of opposing defenses. For him not to be included at all is stupid.

There’s quite a few names on there that were “one hit wonders”.

It’s so hard to say. I think I would give the slight edge to ETN (as a running back) but so hard to compare since they played in completely different offenses and time periods. ETN also benefitted from much better QB play. So it’s really a coin toss. Their style was so different as well. You were lucky if you got a finger or hand on CJ before he took it to the house. ETN was a bulldozer and you just couldn’t bring him down.

I’m excited. Perhaps Shipley can enter this conversation by the time he leaves campus!
