espn recruiting rankings

I was looking at the rankings, which team had what * recruits and how many. I was amazed at who was in front of us and the recruits listed. We are at #13 - with 1 5*, 10 4*, 3 3* and Maverick as unranked. The next team with any 5*'s was Auburn at #6. And some of the teams above Auburn didn't have any 5's. USC is ranked #1. no 5's, 15 4's (0.k. pretty good number), and 0 3's.
WHAT THE FLYIN' HE!L IS THIS BULL$HIT?!?.

I think Friday they will update the ranking numbers. They have updated the list of players but the rank is done on Friday. I believe we will be under 10 because the 13 rank does not account for the last three 4 star players.

I noticed the same thing on rivals earlier...###? Has to be the weightings or aggregate points as some merely have more commits.
Question though re: Maverick - I'm surprised that he is not ranked at all? Looking at his size he looks like a beast but does anyone have any insight on why he doesn't garner more acclaim/stars?

What Difference does it make. U don't get championships for having the best 17 year olds. These are children. You are upset by kids. Clemson wins are what counts. If we are 1 or 20. Who cares. Just win baby.

I generally agree with this - the final ranking of all our classes is in wins...
For years we have had top 10 classes and until 2011 that didn't get us much...so these all must be taken with a grain of salt. But that said, recruiting is certainly the life-blood and we need good inputs to get the results we want - which ultimately is another shot at the NC.

which classes were in the top 10 prior to 2011? 2008 is probably the only one I can think of (maybe 2006 class with Spiller and Sapp). I don't think we've signed many top 10 classes consistently. However, that seems to be changing.

I was commenting on espn's disregard for us and their suck up nature to the sec

Regarding Maverick, I believe he isn't rated right now because he just recently hit a large growth spurt, and I think I remember reading that he was a year ahead as far as schooling goes so he is younger than most. He should gain more attention this season.

There haven't really been opportunities for recruiting services to evaluate him since he committed. High school football starts in a week or 2, and I'm sure there will be evaluators watching.
