Actually in 82 and 83 we were 9-1-1 and went 0-1-1 against Georgia and BC. Very odd.

Had there been instant replay back then we would have gone 1-1-2 rather than 0-2-2.

I re-watched the 1982 game against Georgia in Athens on YouTube yesterday. Ugliest football game I’ve ever seen . We lost 13-7 and it was all defense. HomerJordan threw 4 interceptions and the Georgia QB threw 2. Both were under 50 percent passing.

That’s how football was played back then. Watch the 77, 78, 79, 80 and 81 games too if you can find them. It was usually one of the first games of the season and filled with turnovers off of fumbled option plays or option QBs throwing picks on 3rd and 9. Mostly it was punting duels and both teams had great punters back then. Good thing was you could play a game not on TV in less than 2 1/2 hours with all that running.
