Especially if UGA is more physical than us.......

The LSU game was awesome, one of the best wins in our history, but it didn't completely absolve the S&C staff from the oft repeated theme of losing to bigger and stronger football teams.

Look no further than uSC for evidence. Look at the last 15 years for dozens of other examples where bigger and stronger teams were able beat us because of it. What's the common denominator over that span?

Based on what I believe i saw, we were more physical last year than we were in 2011. But FSU pushed us around when it mattered, and certainly uSC's strength and physicality on the LOS and defense was once again the difference in the game.

We were a stronger, more physical team in 2012 but not fully where we need to be. There were some changes for 2012 and more changes are coming into play for the 2013 season. The UGA game will go a loooong way to gauge the overall progress. Worst Case: They're bigger, stronger, more physical, and beat us on the LOS and at tackling, etc. If they win the game because of that physical element, then the S&C will once again be under fire.

then I may jump on the Batson bandwagon simply because our Oline and Dlines are becoming more veteran and aren't all RS freshman and sophomores who have never played a down. They are going to be expected to be tough...barring injury (knocked on wood).

But, USuC has had the unfortunate luck of landing probably one of the best defensive ends in the nation in recent history. He has simply wrecked havoc on our Oline and has forced Tajh to go into panic mode and scramble...sometimes, right into the arms of Clowney himself. The game plan that Chad came out with in the second half was also atrocious. That game was winnable, despite what most ignorant coots think. So, I wouldn't say USuC manhandled us in that game. The W was well within our reach if the run game didn't go the way of the dodo. This, I think, explains their recent success along with a few other factors, but nothing, IMO, can be soley blamed on Batson for these losses.

I'd be curious to have the average size and strength at each position from all the teams across the country and compare their success.
