It’s also how you get leverage in a new contract… look at Kliff Kingsbury, going to win NFL coach of the year and won’t deny interest in the OU job, so he can leverage the Cardinals to a bigger contract. Les Miles was famous for this when at LSU, he used Arkansas openings a couple times for raises.

Irmo, not sure whether or not you watch the local news, or if you'd read any of the news clips from Oklahoma. Yes, they are actively pursuing Brent for the job. Local news stated he is their #1, Shane is their #2. Actually, probably more like a toss up.
As best I understand, their BOT have a meeting this coming Friday. Stoops has stepped up to be interim as he is very well liked and connected to Oklahoma. He's recruiting to try and shore up as best he can the commits they have coming in. So, in a long winded way of trying to answer your question is they've only put feelers out to gage interest number 1, number 2, the bot has to approve any numbers/contract that can be offered.
That takes time. Probably into late week. I'm sure they'll do interviews via zoom since they're familiar with all the candidates, including Panthers head coach. Brent hasn't denied or rejected anything yet because there isn't anything to officially turn down. He'll listen to what they offer and either accept it or turn it down. I'm sure Dabo, DRad and everyone else is kept in the loop. As Bret stated in a short answer above, Brent won't address the issue until probably Bowl week interviews.
What can we deduct, yes there's interest there. He'll listen, pray, talk to his family. It'll leak out and then be confirmed fast. If you're like me, let's hope it leaks that it's not CBV by Oklahoma announcement of new coach.
Unless it's still up in the air with no decision from Oklahoma, and Brent rejects it, he'll say something bowl week. As it doesn't appear there is any access until then. Hopefully David Hood will continue to work his resources and keep us up to date similar to how recruiting commits are handled. Apologize for not being of too much help.

Maybe because he doesn’t owe us an answer. He reports to Dabo and Dabo will know when the time is right. And then we will all know after that
