Need Investment Advice...TNET Seems Like Pretty Legit Place

May 18, 2022, 2:07 PM

to get good counsel. So Crypto is in the Crapper and Stocks are melting down again today. I'm looking at Beanie Babies or maybe investing in Amway or some other pyramid scheme to fund the retirement. Any tips from the pros here?

I like the metal (gold and silver) and land. At some point the Federal Reserve is going to grow a set and raise interest rates high enough to stop spending, then all heII is going to break loose.

Guns and ammo are tangible assets unless you use the ammo to protect your tangible assets at which time ammo just becomes a cost of doing business

forgot the guns and ammo.like the idea of their being the cost of doing business and therefore are deductible.

I wouldn't start panicking yet

The Dow, S&P 500, and NASDAQ are all still higher than they were at any point during the Trump administration (or any other previous administration).

I have to admit I'm cashed out of stocks at the moment, though. My main investment right now is an oil ETN that pays a fat monthly dividend and is actually up quite nicely over the last month or so while everything else has been tanking.

Economies don't turn on a dime...

May 18, 2022, 2:55 PM

It takes a while for policy making to affect the system. Energy supply/demand, food supply, supply chain issues (trending badly), national debt. Nobody is talking about healthcare... majority of hospitals losing money will charge more for private pay and insurers, and insurance premiums will jump. P&C premiums set to jump as well. Throw in what's going on with Russia and China.

Now the fed is taking the punchbowl away from the party, so hang on. So interest rates will be increased to slow down consumer demand, and production will stay down, and voila...you have stagflation, and a recession.

Bruce Yandle, my old econ professor, has called our economy for sometime "a Frankenstein Economy." The subject is staggering a long, and a body part falls off, so you put another one on and see if he can still keep walking...

Your comment was very misleading and not all true...Nasdaq was at 13,190 when Biden took office...now at 11,418.

And if you look at the time it would take for the Trump policies to be cancelled out by the Biden policies, all of them, including the Russell 2000, are well below where they were just two months after Biden took office.

The Trump administration was the reason all of these were at all time highs when he left office. Biden could not keep them up.

Invesco Balanced-Risk Commodity Strategy Fund Class A (BRCAX) is up 18.26% so far this year, and 46.11% the last three years.

Invesco SteelPath MLP Alpha Fund Class A (MLPAX) is up 25.45% so far this year.

Maybe some of you just need a better advisor!

So, at a 10% inflation rate, a 2% T-Bill is a guaranteed loss of 8%. All CDs and such investments, by design, make less than the inflation rate, thus, you lose money after inflation.
