East End Zone Webcam

Here we go again. The east zone webcam has been frozen in place since yesterday afternoon. Why does this always happen on a Friday? Who is in charge of correcting? Probably won't be fixed until Monday if then!!

Must be the same guy that fixes the air conditioning at the hospital. It goes out on Fridays, he comes back to work on Monday.

But if you are in a sc prison and the air conditioning goes out, you have 6 hours to fix it. If not prisoners must be move to a cooler are of prison! How you like that law.

Unfortunately, I had a family member incarcerated. Those "laws" are on the books merely as suggestions. I know one particular summer they had no AC for three weeks in July. It was an ongoing thing, but that was the longest stretch. The prison sat on a sandhill with zero shade around. (No trees on prison yards) The interior block walls started sweating. It's not like you can raise a window when there are no windows.
You also can't have no more than two men per cell 8'X10'...at least not when the Feds make their "annual" inspection every 3-4 years. In his case, there were the two bunks, a camping cot, and a mattress on the floor. When it was inspection week, they shipped the cot guy and floor guy off to another prison to sleep on the gym floor until after inspection when they were bought back. So a prison designed for 800 men would have 800 for inspection, then go back to the normal 1200-1300 afterwards.
Not commenting one way or the other about who deserves what, but if it was such a cushy place we wouldn't have men sleeping under bridges. And I know your next comment will be about how they lay around all day and do nothing...many prisoners would LOVE to get out and work. Anything! Ditch-digging, mowing, garbage collection...but the prisons can't find qualified guards willing to accompany those men (and women) on such work details.
Think of it like the FBI right now. If they break a law, who will enforce it?
Anyone in prison is being punished. Just the loss of freedom is punishment enough. All of the pile-on stuff is just punishment gravy. After years of that, we release them back into society the next day and expect them to function as normal adults.

I think they paused both cameras yesterday because they had a student event in there yesterday afternoon.
They told students- no pictures, no video.
I guess it hasn’t been turned back on yet.

look how many are frozen or are only showing trees, etc. Obviously, there's nobody at the university assigned to monitor them and make sure they're live and working properly. No reason for this.

They should just turn them all off since all people do is ##### about them anyway. They probably get looked at very rarely with the exception of this summer and video board construction.
They are not a priority to anyone and we don’t need them anyway.

who haven't actually been to the campus to see what it looks like, etc. It's a "selling tool" in that sense. It's not just for alumni/fans to look at the campus.
They need to be live and working correctly. That's not too much to ask someone to be responsible for.

I hope they don't turn them off. For those of us that love that place and live far away, it's awesome to be able to see all over campus. I look at them several times a week almost every week.
