E$ecPN at it again....this time with APR
Jun 6, 2013, 12:37 PM

|
Talking about Alabama as one of the 13 FBS schools to receive high honors.
"The Crimson Tide are now on a list that includes Northwestern, Stanford, and Duke..."
But not a single mention of Clemson making it for the 3rd year in a row. I can't wait until we beat UGA and SCAR next season. Down with E$ecPN!

What is the minority population at Clemson these days, 7%?
Jun 6, 2013, 4:06 PM
|
|
The fact that minorities generally score lower on standardized test scores has never produced a measureable impact on Clemson's averages.

Very true. Stanford, Duke, and Northwestern are pretty much on par with the Ivy Leagues (Stanford is an Ivy) and Clemson is in a group below that with the likes of U of Florida, Georgia Tech, U of Georgia, Southern Cal, etc.

are world renowned institutions, and on the short list of the very best universities in the country. We really aren't even in the same league academically, and neither is Bama for that matter, despite the accomplishments of their football team in the classroom.

Alabama is not academically "elite"

Coming from an Alabama high school I can tell you they recruit students heavily. All the letter ls I reciee from UA either talked about how awesome the football was or implied how many parties I could go to. Most of the kids I knew that had track records for being the trouble makers and the almost drop outs went to Bama. Its easy as dirt to get in.

Well, it might be noted that all three of the schools mentioned there are private universities. High standards. High expense. Virtually all of the schools with the highest SAT's are private (not all). Clemson does pretty #### good considering this state doesn't give a #### about higher education.

Did you know that South Carolina students [most do not graduate] have one thing CU students do not have. Of course, a rejection letter from CU.

titles AND is doing very well in the classroom. If Clemson had won a title or 3 in the last 4 years, we would get more attention for our APR. Likewise, if Bama was pre-Saban mediocre Bama, you wouldn't be hearing about their APR accomplishments right now either.
