I was re-watching HBO's John Adams mini series that aired backed in 2008

last night (excellent mini-series by the way). During his closing argument in the defense of British Soldiers who were accused of wantonly firing into an assembly of Boston citizens, John Adams stated something that has stuck with me since I first heard it years ago...

"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence..."

This is an actual quote from John Adams and not some Hollywood line and it impresses upon me how far we have strayed in the modern Western world from simple truth. We have whole segments of our society driven by left leaning academians, politicians, and the pop culture bullhorns that embrace a post modernist philosophy that "truth" and "fact" are simply whatever the individual desires it to be.

Phrases like "tell your truth" and the other trite post modern garbage expressions all point to a fantasy that facts and truth are malleable to the individual and are not stubborn things as John Adams so correctly put it. Their philosophy is the exact opposite of what John Adams, a brilliant man by any measure, knew to be correct; truth is not what we emotionally wish it to be, but the reality of what facts and evidence present no matter how much we may not like it.

This whole push by the cultural left to normalize transgenderism is the selling of a false truth. They contend that one's designation as a "man" or "woman" is a mental state and we should just ignore the biological facts. Their assertion is that whatever someone chooses to be - that is what they are. They ignore the facts and give into their passions so much that they have built an entire industry around obfuscating those facts. They advocate giving puberty blockers to teens, cutting off healthy body tissue/parts to provide a cosmetic "fix", and injecting opposite sex hormones into bodies to produce a fake cosmetic result in an attempt to fool the bodies own natural biological fact based processes.

Instead of treating and recognizing the transgender issue as the mental/psychological issue that it is, they demand we all participate in a delusion that biological males can, through cosmetic applications, be considered actual women and that biological women, through cosmetic applications, be considered actual men.

NO - I refuse to ignore basic biological facts and live in a delusional world led by people who determine "truth" as being whatever they desire it to be. If I'm cast as a reprobate for doing so by the pop culture sheep - then so be it because at least I will be in the company of smart people who, like John Adams, recognize that "Facts are stubborn things..."
