Another solid morning. 18 mallards, 4 pintails, 2 teal. Far more enjoyable than watching Big Stinko play!

I picked out a nice fat green head and a handsome mallard hen to bring back, planning to do a dead mount. We’ll donate the rest of the birds.

That’d be a long way to transport a decidedly not delicious animal

I too prefer killing unarmed wildlife solely for the salacious thrill of snuffing out a life. "Eating what you kill"......LOL!!!!

Jesus christ man go join PETA or something, they’re birds. We donate the birds out here to a food shelter. I clean cook and eat everything we kill at our farm.

Ahhh, makes sense, so it's a philanthropic hunt.

Braving the elements to provide the hungry with decidedly not delicious food.

I'm sorry, I actually don't have a hardon about all this.

I'm not a PETA guy, and I'm as pro-hunting as you'll find when it's for a purpose and the animal will be utilized.
Sport hunting with no harvesting of the kill just has always seemed a little needless and sociopathic to me, like an adult, more expensive version of a kid pulling the wings off a fly or putting salt on a slug for fun. I'm sure it's entertaining but it just bothers my inner Buddhist a little I guess. With that said I'm not gonna go make a poster and march about it or anything and I didn't mean to turn some joking around into crapping on your trip.
It's good to know who the board Dexter is now though.

The logistics of transporting dead animals from one coast to the other either by mail or on a commercial plane are a bit of an obstacle, little too much to overcome for most hunting trips where you don’t drive. It’s a little different situation if you’re big game hunting and have meat that’s worth the effort to transport. The birds get used, just not by us. Many groups that hunt here trade their birds for egg rolls at a local Chinese restaurant. Snow goose hunting now? That’s an animal that buzzards won’t even eat, they get thrown in a hole in the ground.

choose between going hunting or spending the day on my wife's project list around the house, the house just might win. I'm coming at it from a different perspective. It seems like hunting is something you're brought up with or you aren't.

You grow up doing it or you don't. I don't know anyone who never went hunting and suddenly became an avid hunter at 30.

Mostly steel, but shells are so hard to come by just have to take what we can get. I miss lead, could reach out and touch birds with those
